Art likes: I like a lot of things for art, but if it's a colored piece, I'm often weak to splashes of bright color or gold, soft coloring, or vivid colors. If you're up for it, I especially enjoy anime/cartoonish styles, including chibis, ink painting, art nouveau, and woodblock print styles. I always like wings (any kind), magical effects or elements, and flowers (crowns, symbolic, presents, hanahaki, go crazy)
I'm fine with any tense/POV/rating, on-screen underage as long as the characters are at least 16, and canon-typical violence. If you're doing a comic, please feel free to get experimental with the art (if you want to!) since this series already has an unusual style.
I really like youkai, so please feel free to draw on any that you find interesting, or make some up - although I do have a weak spot for tsukumogami/object spirits if you need inspiration. Human hauntings/spirits are also great, though. It's also interesting to see how normal people react to the Medicine Seller and how that might be different in different time periods.

Was the Medicine Seller always a Medicine Seller, or did he become the mysterious man we see in canon? How did he obtain his array of instruments? Was Otherself always a part of him? Is Otherself another aspect of himself, a spirit he became entwined with, something else? Has their relationship changed over time? What was their first exorcism together like? What is being the Medicine Seller and his Otherself like in modern-day Japan? Does Kayo once again see weird stuff happening at a new employer's place and try to channel the Medicine Seller to solve it before he shows up to save the day, or seek him out?

For either relationship, I would love to see anything that explores Itsuki's strange between-worlds position, or worldbuilding about the youkai vs human world, the history of youkai and human interaction, youkai curses/diseases, etc.

Executive/Itsuki: How might their dynamic change post-canon with Itsuki finishing growing up, Aoi back in at least some form, and Hanae mostly out of the picture for the moment? Perhaps without Hanae around, Itsuki ends up overworking himself, and the workaholic Executive spots it? Or perhaps Itsuki starts having nightmares (of giant flaming Aoi pinning him down? Hanae almost getting killed by the Executive? possessed!Hanae choking him? all of the above?) and the Executive gets involved when it's clear he's exhausted. The Executive has a Chinese motif, so perhaps he would be useful to consult and spend time with if the Mononokean receives a request from a Chinese youkai or something related to China? Concerned rumors started to spread that the Mononokean's new master is a human, and what better way to prove that there's nothing to worry about by spreading the news that the human-hating Executive is in a relationship with him?
Itsuki & Aoi: There are still so many unanswered questions about their past together. What exactly was the incident that led to Aoi taking him on, and how did they become so close afterward? Itsuki's parents are alive and well, according to the official fanbook, so, like, did Aoi pretend to be a distant relative or kind neighbor or something to cover up for taking him to the Underworld all the time, or what? How is their relationship going to be different once Aoi returns to their normal self and relieves the Princess, and what does Aoi think of everything Itsuki did to bring them back? Would also be down for any kind of pre-canon adventure or few with the two of them with bb!Itsuki learning the ropes of how to deal with clients at every stage of a request.

I always love anything with period details or that evokes the feeling of the period, both in court (the court culture was ridiculous and glorious all at once, I love it) and out of it. I also love all kinds of spirits and ghosts, especially tsukumogami, and any use of magic
Optional prompts:
Any kind of spooky happenings and/or spooky locations, whether the spirits are the ones up to trouble or the real demons are the ones in human hearts. Hiromasa is the one to save the day - perhaps Seimei has managed to get himself incapacitated or in trouble despite all of his magical knowledge, or perhaps knowing music (or the latest court gossip) is the key to smoothing everything over. Inheriting Lady Aone's spirit had unexpected side effects; maybe Hiromasa simply gets an expanded lifespan like hers (in which case, fic extending into the future at any point could be fun), or maybe it's something more interesting/scary than that. Something in Seimei's past (or Hiromasa's?) comes back to haunt them, perhaps literally. Foxes have different expectations of courting than Heian noble norms. In-universe writing could also be fun - later scholars trying to make sense of what they got up to, gossipy RPF about them from around the court (did you hear that Minamoto no Hiromasa saw Abe no Seimei without his hat?!), a diary that one of them keeps, paperwork that needs to get done after you save the capital from ruin....

The epilogue of the anime didn't happen and Hazuki and Hikari grow towards being rivals for the ages who eventually compete on the international level. Or, Hazuki does have to stop for health reasons - but Hikari comes and asks for help improving her performance quality/choreographing new routines, and Hazuki is caught between the bitter ending of her career and watching her rival's grow and Hikari's continued admiration of her. Planning and then doing a gala routine together - or performing together just for themselves when nobody is watching - opens them up to their feelings. AU where Hikari accepts the offer to train abroad, but Hazuki comes too, and they navigate a new and high-pressure training environment overseas together. Pining through hands-on training help or stretching exercises, Hazuki helping Hikari do her hair and makeup, late-night training together, helping each other with small injuries and bruises from training, etc. Competing to see who can get a new element first/better - perhaps with a consolation prize for whoever is second?

Art likes: I like a lot of things for art, but if it's a colored piece, I'm often weak to splashes of bright color or gold, soft coloring, or vivid colors. If you're up for it, I especially enjoy anime/cartoonish styles, including chibis, ink painting, art nouveau, and woodblock print styles. I always like wings (any kind), magical effects or elements, and flowers (crowns, symbolic, presents, hanahaki, go crazy)
I'm fine with any tense/POV/rating, on-screen underage as long as the characters are at least 16, and canon-typical violence. If you're doing a comic, please feel free to get experimental with the art (if you want to!) since this series already has an unusual style.
I really like youkai, so please feel free to draw on any that you find interesting, or make some up - although I do have a weak spot for tsukumogami/object spirits if you need inspiration. Human hauntings/spirits are also great, though. It's also interesting to see how normal people react to the Medicine Seller and how that might be different in different time periods.

For either relationship, I would love to see anything that explores Itsuki's strange between-worlds position, or worldbuilding about the youkai vs human world, the history of youkai and human interaction, youkai curses/diseases, etc.

Executive/Itsuki: How might their dynamic change post-canon with Itsuki finishing growing up, Aoi back in at least some form, and Hanae mostly out of the picture for the moment? Perhaps without Hanae around, Itsuki ends up overworking himself, and the workaholic Executive spots it? Or perhaps Itsuki starts having nightmares (of giant flaming Aoi pinning him down? Hanae almost getting killed by the Executive? possessed!Hanae choking him? all of the above?) and the Executive gets involved when it's clear he's exhausted. The Executive has a Chinese motif, so perhaps he would be useful to consult and spend time with if the Mononokean receives a request from a Chinese youkai or something related to China? Concerned rumors started to spread that the Mononokean's new master is a human, and what better way to prove that there's nothing to worry about by spreading the news that the human-hating Executive is in a relationship with him?
Itsuki & Aoi: There are still so many unanswered questions about their past together. What exactly was the incident that led to Aoi taking him on, and how did they become so close afterward? Itsuki's parents are alive and well, according to the official fanbook, so, like, did Aoi pretend to be a distant relative or kind neighbor or something to cover up for taking him to the Underworld all the time, or what? How is their relationship going to be different once Aoi returns to their normal self and relieves the Princess, and what does Aoi think of everything Itsuki did to bring them back? Would also be down for any kind of pre-canon adventure or few with the two of them with bb!Itsuki learning the ropes of how to deal with clients at every stage of a request.

I always love anything with period details or that evokes the feeling of the period, both in court (the court culture was ridiculous and glorious all at once, I love it) and out of it. I also love all kinds of spirits and ghosts, especially tsukumogami, and any use of magic

Any kind of spooky happenings and/or spooky locations, whether the spirits are the ones up to trouble or the real demons are the ones in human hearts. Hiromasa is the one to save the day - perhaps Seimei has managed to get himself incapacitated or in trouble despite all of his magical knowledge, or perhaps knowing music (or the latest court gossip) is the key to smoothing everything over. Inheriting Lady Aone's spirit had unexpected side effects; maybe Hiromasa simply gets an expanded lifespan like hers (in which case, fic extending into the future at any point could be fun), or maybe it's something more interesting/scary than that. Something in Seimei's past (or Hiromasa's?) comes back to haunt them, perhaps literally. Foxes have different expectations of courting than Heian noble norms. In-universe writing could also be fun - later scholars trying to make sense of what they got up to, gossipy RPF about them from around the court (did you hear that Minamoto no Hiromasa saw Abe no Seimei without his hat?!), a diary that one of them keeps, paperwork that needs to get done after you save the capital from ruin....

The epilogue of the anime didn't happen and Hazuki and Hikari grow towards being rivals for the ages who eventually compete on the international level. Or, Hazuki does have to stop for health reasons - but Hikari comes and asks for help improving her performance quality/choreographing new routines, and Hazuki is caught between the bitter ending of her career and watching her rival's grow and Hikari's continued admiration of her. Planning and then doing a gala routine together - or performing together just for themselves when nobody is watching - opens them up to their feelings. AU where Hikari accepts the offer to train abroad, but Hazuki comes too, and they navigate a new and high-pressure training environment overseas together. - DNW live action anything! The live action has a different character cast and a wildly different plot. It is not compatible with my requests. Manhua and side stories information only please!
- Jin's canonical poisoning death is fine
- rape/noncon undertones for her hypothetical time at the Turk camp is fine (on the debate of if that’s even a thing, “was rescued before reaching the Turk camp” to avert the entire aspect entirely is fine too) but I would not like this to be the focus of the fic (I’d also accept it being portrayed as either an abusive first marriage or a sexual slavery/concubinage situation!)
- I feel like canonical Jin&Li Shimin have emotional infidelity towards their other spouses, which is okay and honestly kind of part of the setting!
- If this is a Jin/LSM get married au, then I do *not* want these two to have in-fic infidelity in their marriage with each other (though vague mentions of other concubines are fine)

- This is probably also a historical events AU by fudging the timeline, but what if Jin and LSM get married as an alliance against their common enemies (the Turks and/or the Sui). I think this would work really well in a Pusa-is-older AU! Give him his heart’s desire and free him from the regrets of a lifetime!
- I would prefer if Jin/LSM do fall in love in this though! I think the characters just work together really well and I’d for us not to have palace tragedy like we do in canon.

What about LCG’s position in a court where she’s being rumored to be her uncle’s child again? The Court's reaction would be even more dramatic than in canon or history.
- Ghost Marriage AU; so many potential additional en/yuan notes on top of the morality mess too. The reactions might be even more dramatic than in a Jin survives AU, just on the basis of ghost marriage connotations themselves

- I would love a Yustav POV of anything in canon! The OG work has a couple bits of Yus POV of major events, but in the manhwa adaption form we really only get subtle hints from his expression.
- Outside POV of Ran is another potentially really fun idea. The story is primarily from her perspective. One of the benefits of the manhwa style is that it does allow for showcasing how the MC has some cognitive disconnects from how the other characters think. Maybe the Second Prince has more thoughts ^TM. Otherwise, OC or minor character perspective of just how many gender role/societal expectations Ran is unthinkingly bowling through as a modern girl in a position of feudal power would be interesting. Maybe a Lachia resident's POV on the improvements and changes during her reign.

- The police and judicial system issues occasionally featured in Q.E.D. are about things specific to the Japanese Justice System. I am specifically interested in those issues in relation to the canon universe and the social commentary in relation to Japanese societal issues and sometimes the real-life events being referenced in various cases.
Prompts:
- Feelings are more implicit in the manga and tangental, what about a more character focused story? Particularly, Sou POV, since Kana isn’t self-reflective at all.
- What about the cultural expectation of marriage retirement and children? The canon future au is so based on societal speculation, additional commentary over the demographic collapse and misogynic social norms would be very catnip for me! I think these serious themes also work really well in main canon too.
