Hi! Regarding Chanur Series - C. J. Cherryh
Pyanfar Chanur & Crew of the 'Pride' (Chanur - Cherryh):

Pyanfar is the captain and the main crew is made up of her female relatives:

Haral Araun
Tirun Araun
Chur Anify
Geran Anify
Hilfy Chanur

The plot of the first book is about their stowaway alien (human) Tully, who eventually also becomes a crew member.

As time goes on the crew expands to include:

Khym Mahn (Pyanfar's husband)

Skkukuk | Vikktakkht (a low status person of an untrustworthy alien species foisted on Pyanfar - he's known by the first name while on her ship, by the second in his life afterwards).

The extra possibilities depend on when an author might want to set their story - pre-canon would just be the core crew. I thought just saying "crew" offered the most freedom, but am happy to be guided by you.

Yes, that’d be perfect - I think the automatic mental association for people will be the core crew (probably with Tully), but I did want to let anyone who wants to write the other two to have the chance!
