What must and MUST NOT be posted at the deadline?
Please upload complete works. It's okay to continue editing them between uploading and reveals, but any time you hit 'submit' on the posting form, the thing you submit needs to be a complete work by you, please.

No placeholders - please do not upload half your story (even if it's copied in twice). Do not upload a story you wrote last year with names swapped out so it could seem like the right fandom at a glance. Some disasters of this type are possible to achieve by accident, I know, but the (stressful) effect is the same to me and potentially very disappointing to your recipient. So please check over whatever you've uploaded, after you've uploaded it, so you can solemnly vow you've uploaded a real thing.

No AI - please do not upload a work that was created using generative tools. If you think your use is borderline and want to check with me, please get in touch - ie, it's okay to get grammar checks, or to use an image tool to pose figures into references that you then use to draw from. But art or prose derived from prompting a generative tool is not appropriate for this event. Thanks for understanding.

No DNWs - Please check your work against your recipient's Do-Not-Wants - both when posting and after edits.


More positively: I allow extensions in most situations. If you need one, please email me. If you're interested in the highadrenalineexchange event, please keep in mind that HA's creation period is 1-16 February, so a FFFX extension may overlap that.

-If you think it's very likely you'll create two half-size gifts rather than one full-size gift, please let me know (by comment there or by email) and I'll send you another assignment. Fic in a Box Also Has Pinch Hits Now
Our other sibling exchange, ficinabox, has a wide variety of pinch hits due on November 10th! Pinch hits for Fic in a Box can be picked up in increments of 1k+ (so if you see a request where 7k is required, but you think you can write a 2k story, it's fine to claim just 2k), and can be fulfilled with a wide variety of fanwork types, depending on what the recipient has opted into.

hello! assignments are almost ready to go out, but I forgot to line up 2 people who would be willing to temporarily hold the extra assignments I generate For Reasons.
