We have 10 initial pinch hits, due on 30 January 2021 (note also the check-in week, 16-22 November).
Minimum requirements: An art gift must be a completed comic at least 10 pages or 40 panels long; a fic gift must be a story at least 10,000 words long. You can also fulfil a pinch hit by giving two complete half-length works, if your recipient has opted into that for the fandom. Any work must be for a fandom your recipient has requested and one character/relationship/worldbuilding tag requested in that fandom, and must avoid their DNWs.
How claims work (Initial pinch hits only): Because assignments have just gone out and I have offered people the option to swap their current assignment for a pinch hit, I will not mark any pinch hit claimed for the first 48 hours. I will then give priority to people who claimed in that time and who want to swap assignments. If you are claiming a pinch hit because you want to trade it for your current assignment, please say so when claiming.

Yrica is deeply flawed and I love her. I love that she was incapable of stopping herself from committing genocide until she was ordered to, and how deep her own self-loathing runs. I love that she tries her best over and over, no matter who she's working for, and runs herself to the bone as a result. I have low-key shipped her with Chass (who is another giant pile of damage, and whose rage against the galaxy is beautiful in the most metal way possible) since the first novel and I may have screamed a bit when the second one acknowledged the chemistry. (I also low-key ship Yrica with Hera, on her end as a hero-worship thing and on Hera's as deciding to take on yet another fixer-upper project who happens to be adorable.) I would love to know more about her past. I'd love an AU where the end of the second book plays out differently. I'd love a full AU where she made one actual choice in her life, and followed the girl she loved into the Rebellion, and experienced the war from that POV.

Nothing beats the original trio in my heart. They've been ride or die for one another ever since Artoo showed Luke that hologram, even Han by the end of the first film. I can't get enough of their lives together, crashing into one another, refusing to give up on each other even against impossible odds and bitter foes. And one day they did give up, because of their child, and oh the angst with that. I'd love to see their time together in the Rebellion, as friends or lovers or moving back and forth across that line. (I ship the component parts of the trio, too, and I'm fine with any of them as an endgame, but would prefer not to focus solely on Han/Leia or Han/Luke.) I want to see them together after the war, trying to raise Ben together. Maybe an AU where nothing goes wrong, where they figure out what's going wrong with him early and help him through, or maybe the story about the slow crawl towards the canon events despite everything. I'm also fine with a rewrite of the Sequel era where they all live all the way through.

Goofy cartoon is goofy and I love it. Kaz is so earnest, and he means so well, and he just can't quite make it all work except when he's flying. Norath is his dorky equal, a fellow traveler in the Resistance who is also a little bit of a screw-up. I want to see their madcap adventures together fighting the First Order. Badly. Or getting together after the war.
Tam and Synara had gorgeous chemistry together early on, and I remain sad that the show dropped the ball later. They bonded early, and Tam even consented to spend leisure time with Kaz to get to hang out with Synara. Synara fought against her own shipmates to save Tam! They are due a reckoning after the events of the show, forced missions back together, or even a quest of their own post-TROS that brings them together.

Team: I continue to have a lot of space family feelings about this show. I'd love to have one more team adventure, set anywhere during the course of the series, or an AU where things went a little better and they're part of the Rebellion as a full team during the OT.
Hera & Sabine: I have long wanted a story exploring Sabine's early days aboard the ship, especially in regards to her relationship with Hera. Sabine's been through a lot even before she joined the team. How did the early attempts to get through her defenses go?
Ezra & Jacen: Ezra has yet to meet Jacen but I can't wait until they do. Will Ezra train him, and see a lot of his own early troubles in Jedi training? Will they be friends when both are much older, forming their own small Order away from what goes on with Luke?
Kanan/Hera: Their first months working together. Missing scenes from the time of the show. That time they banged in Ezra's old comm tower while everyone else was busy during "Flight of the Defender." Those times they banged in the various rooms of the ship. Kanan figuring out this Force Ghost business after the fact the way Qui-Gon did, and hanging out to watch and guide. He's been smitten with her since the beginning, and she didn't say she loved him until the end, so how did they work around feelings, and not admitting to those feelings despite the fact that everyone around them knew? What was he about to tell her when Rukh attacked? Fix-its! Post-canon angst! Comedy capers where they're just hanging out having fun! Fix-its in which she's running the Rebellion and he's changing diapers and trying to keep Chopper from tossing the baby out through the airlock! Non-fix-its where his ghost is hanging out with them, making bad jokes and attempting to parent from beyond the grave!

Just about anything about these two would be fantastic. I see them as two people who are going to be there for each other even if it's hard for one of them, who'll accept each other's decisions and do their best to support each other. There's a lot of potential for angst, especially post-FFVIIr (Barret misses his home and his daughter and tends to get fixated on revenge, Tifa's lost her second home, they're trying to help other characters who are also going through a lot) and exploring that would be fine, but I would prefer at least a hopeful ending.

Yrica is deeply flawed and I love her. I love that she was incapable of stopping herself from committing genocide until she was ordered to, and how deep her own self-loathing runs. I love that she tries her best over and over, no matter who she's working for, and runs herself to the bone as a result. I have low-key shipped her with Chass (who is another giant pile of damage, and whose rage against the galaxy is beautiful in the most metal way possible) since the first novel and I may have screamed a bit when the second one acknowledged the chemistry. (I also low-key ship Yrica with Hera, on her end as a hero-worship thing and on Hera's as deciding to take on yet another fixer-upper project who happens to be adorable.) I would love to know more about her past. I'd love an AU where the end of the second book plays out differently. I'd love a full AU where she made one actual choice in her life, and followed the girl she loved into the Rebellion, and experienced the war from that POV.

Nothing beats the original trio in my heart. They've been ride or die for one another ever since Artoo showed Luke that hologram, even Han by the end of the first film. I can't get enough of their lives together, crashing into one another, refusing to give up on each other even against impossible odds and bitter foes. And one day they did give up, because of their child, and oh the angst with that. I'd love to see their time together in the Rebellion, as friends or lovers or moving back and forth across that line. (I ship the component parts of the trio, too, and I'm fine with any of them as an endgame, but would prefer not to focus solely on Han/Leia or Han/Luke.) I want to see them together after the war, trying to raise Ben together. Maybe an AU where nothing goes wrong, where they figure out what's going wrong with him early and help him through, or maybe the story about the slow crawl towards the canon events despite everything. I'm also fine with a rewrite of the Sequel era where they all live all the way through.

Goofy cartoon is goofy and I love it. Kaz is so earnest, and he means so well, and he just can't quite make it all work except when he's flying. Norath is his dorky equal, a fellow traveler in the Resistance who is also a little bit of a screw-up. I want to see their madcap adventures together fighting the First Order. Badly. Or getting together after the war.
Tam and Synara had gorgeous chemistry together early on, and I remain sad that the show dropped the ball later. They bonded early, and Tam even consented to spend leisure time with Kaz to get to hang out with Synara. Synara fought against her own shipmates to save Tam! They are due a reckoning after the events of the show, forced missions back together, or even a quest of their own post-TROS that brings them together.

Team: I continue to have a lot of space family feelings about this show. I'd love to have one more team adventure, set anywhere during the course of the series, or an AU where things went a little better and they're part of the Rebellion as a full team during the OT.
Hera & Sabine: I have long wanted a story exploring Sabine's early days aboard the ship, especially in regards to her relationship with Hera. Sabine's been through a lot even before she joined the team. How did the early attempts to get through her defenses go?
Ezra & Jacen: Ezra has yet to meet Jacen but I can't wait until they do. Will Ezra train him, and see a lot of his own early troubles in Jedi training? Will they be friends when both are much older, forming their own small Order away from what goes on with Luke?
Kanan/Hera: Their first months working together. Missing scenes from the time of the show. That time they banged in Ezra's old comm tower while everyone else was busy during "Flight of the Defender." Those times they banged in the various rooms of the ship. Kanan figuring out this Force Ghost business after the fact the way Qui-Gon did, and hanging out to watch and guide. He's been smitten with her since the beginning, and she didn't say she loved him until the end, so how did they work around feelings, and not admitting to those feelings despite the fact that everyone around them knew? What was he about to tell her when Rukh attacked? Fix-its! Post-canon angst! Comedy capers where they're just hanging out having fun! Fix-its in which she's running the Rebellion and he's changing diapers and trying to keep Chopper from tossing the baby out through the airlock! Non-fix-its where his ghost is hanging out with them, making bad jokes and attempting to parent from beyond the grave!

Just about anything about these two would be fantastic. I see them as two people who are going to be there for each other even if it's hard for one of them, who'll accept each other's decisions and do their best to support each other. There's a lot of potential for angst, especially post-FFVIIr (Barret misses his home and his daughter and tends to get fixated on revenge, Tifa's lost her second home, they're trying to help other characters who are also going through a lot) and exploring that would be fine, but I would prefer at least a hopeful ending.
