Prompts: So honestly, any type of fic with these guys and I will be happy as long as it’s a slow burn. But an idea I have for them goes back to the start where Lux finds him in prison but as a prison guard herself and he tempts her to his side. Or, Sylas is a mageseeker, finds her and has to take her into custody. Another idea is she breaks him out and they go on a long adventure together.

Prompts: I was always sad that there weren’t more interactions between Vincent and Heather because I thought their power dynamic is interesting. I love that Vincent knows more about the world and what Heather represents than she does but gives very little. Just enough to make her freak out and question reality. So, any story based on that would be amazing. This is also one of the few fandoms I lean into the A/B/O situation-minus the animal part-where I think Vincent watching/hunting Heather would fit really well, waiting for his chance to strike. Honestly, go crazy with this one. AU’s, gore, torture of any kind, seriously…this pairing is one where the author can lose their self and I will be happy.

Prompts: These two are detectives and I love how Holder is this easy going, chill guy with a dark past while Sarah is the exact opposite. He is constantly trying to get her to crack and she is always putting up her walls. I would love to see a story where maybe Holder relapses and goes to her for help while in a drugged out state. Or, maybe a story where they’re on a case and Sarah is kidnapped, forced to take a drug as a warning to Holder and he has to help her through it and the aftermath. Honestly, I would love a story where it’s a play on their power dynamic but in a darker, more serious tone that touches on Holder’s drug past with of course a romantic aspect as well.

Prompts: I’ve always wondered what exactly happened during the deal making between Hade’s and Eurydice. I’ve been curious too about how this play would look through Hade’s eyes and his lust for Eurydice once he tempted her into the Underworld. Even though he says ‘the girl means nothing to me’ she does in the sense she is another object for him to posses. What would happen if she tried to run away? Or if she holds back from joining his side? How does Persephone deal with all of this? I love the idea too of Persephone joining in and toying with Eurydice as well for Hades.

Raynie & Kiana
I like Raynie a lot; we don’t get a whole lot on her, but what we do get paints her as someone who’s having a very interesting life of her own, utterly divorced from the timeloop shenanigans (except re: the shifter children thing). I like her and Kiana’s friendship, too; I like how when we finally see more of them both we learn more about how they’re similar and different.
(I do also like Kiana! But I have less to say about her individually.)
If you want to go pre-canon I’d really love something with Raynie initially going to Cyoria and how she befriended Kiana in the first place (or, perhaps more likely, how Kiana befriended her; I somehow doubt that Raynie age 13, recently semi-exiled from her tribe, was particularly in search of outsider friends).
For post-canon, really, anything dealing with the fallout of all the things that go down in the real world would be fantastic too.
Novelty & Tinami
These two have a really fun dynamic and I would love to see something further exploring that--in the real world, maybe, where it can progress into something longer-term than a month allows? How does Tinami feel about the aranea, once she knows them as beings instead of myths?

This movie is very moody, I think, in the best way; it relies a lot on inference and audience knowledge of the relevant legends in interesting ways, and I'd be very much interested in something that took that sort of moody ephemeral feeling and did, well, more of it, I suppose.
Also! It's very green and I like that about it, too.
If you feel like it, I think this is the sort of movie that would lend itself well to a comic with no or very few words.

dragons & people
I love dragons lmao, (almost) any kind of dragons! What are they like? I do prefer that they not be... mindlessly hostile, I suppose; they don't need to be friendly, and they don't need to talk or think like people do, but I would prefer them to not simply treat humans as attack-on-sight, you know?
As for visual design, I have yet to meet a dragon design I didn't like--wings? no wings? two, four, six, more limbs? feel free to get weird here if you want!
These tags give me the impression that the dragons are pretty big, but if you want to make them small instead I'm sure it'll be great!
supervillain & OSHA agent
The contrast here, I think, is what amuses me most about this pair--she may be a supervillain, but that doesn't mean she can have parts of her lair becoming an accidental death trap! think of how hard it would be to hire minions if all of them died or were horribly injured in avoidable workplace accidents!

Fortov
Of all the Kazinski siblings, we see Fortov the least, and we know that Zorian doesn’t like him much at all, but it’s also pretty clear that Zorian isn’t a totally reliable narrator when it comes to Fortov. So tell me about him! What’s it like to be Fortov Kazinski, generally charismatic middle child who isn’t a total overachiever in any field?

If you want to focus on Kirielle’s relationship with someone else, for Zorian, I love their dynamic! And I’d really enjoy seeing their relationship developing in real time. I think it would be great to see either of them defending the other to their parents—maybe Zorian ends up with custody of Kiri, definitely things to explore there. For Nochka, they’re adorable and I’d love a further development of their friendship, especially getting to see it grow and develop after the invasion. If you want to write about her and Zach, they seem to have a lot of fun teaming up against Zorian, I really enjoy their dynamic and how they play off each other. Or you could go with someone else entirely!
I’d also be here for any sort of solo story about/character study of Kiri, really, but I’m gonna prompt a few specific things anyway.
- She grows up a little, and becomes a student mage—what’s that like for her, especially having received Zorian’s tutelage?
- She grows up a little, and doesn’t seriously pursue magic—does she devote herself more seriously to art? Do something else? Get away from her parents, and get to just be a kid for a little longer than her siblings?
- By some mechanism, Kirielle gets pulled into the time loop, whether with Zorian, instead of him, or in some utterly unrelated incident. Maybe she's even the Controller, somehow. What’s it like to grow older and older in life experience while your body remains stubbornly nine? How does this change the story?
Neolu
Like Raynie, she also seems to be someone who's got an interesting story going on that has nothing whatsoever to do with the main drama; I'd love to see something exploring that! She's initially presented as not a very serious person by Zorian's perspective, but when we actually see her there's more to her than that--tell me about her!
Or maybe a story about one of those loops when Zach told her he was a time traveler and they went exploring together?

first of all: the only part of Friends at the Table that I have actually listened to is the little Fall of Magic series; as the characters I have requested are from that game I do not expect this to be a problem but i thought it should be said.
secondly... I love this game. I love how weird and ephemeral and overtly magical it is, how that magic manifests in different ways in different places but is still very much present even as it's dying. The sense of melancholy, of an old magical world and a changing new one, pervades the game and it's a tone I sort of fell in love with.
I requested Fawn and Caspian because... well, mostly because I actually had to choose characters for this, and worldbuilding didn't quite seem fair to request when I'm only interested in a tiny corner of the canon, but also because they're ambiguous and old in a way a lot of elements of the story are, and I would love to see something that explores that.
They also describe a lot of very enchanting visuals; if you want to illustrate some of those as a comic I wouldn't mind if the focus is somewhere other than Fawn or Caspian. I just would like more of this world, and the people who live in it through its changes.

* Julie Sakuma Dmitriyevich: Julie is my favorite character here - he carries a lot of pain and grief, but he tries to stay strong for Ai and the others, and while he can be cynical, he's also fiercely protective of those he cares about, and being the oldest of Ai's group, he would likely have a different view of the world. Being the father-figure of the group, how does Julie care for the others? How does he feel about having a family again? For backstory, there's his life with his wife and daughter (and Julie was quite young when his daughter was born), or you could explore his grief after their deaths. What about some father/daughter-bonding with Ai? How much does he tell Ai about his family, or does she ask him about her parents?
For romance, I ship him with Scar as they bond over Celica together, and also Julie/Dee; he's already been married once, so would he worry about comparing Scar to his deceased wife, or would the guilt both he and Dee carry lead to them reaching out to each other for comfort?

You can't go wrong with girls with swords, and all the yuri subtext is definitely a welcomed touch. I really liked the friendship between the girls, and I also enjoy the friends-to-lovers trope. All the sword-fighting is good too - even with utsushi, fighting aradama is no easy feat, and one of the girls being injured during battle is also ripe for hurt/comfort potential.
* Etou Kanami/Yanase Mai: When Kanami finally returns from the netherworld, how does Mai react? Does she finally take that chance to confess her feelings? Does their reunion turn intimate? Or are they immediately thrust into aradama-hunting missions again? What kind of aradama do they encounter? What if one of them was seriously injured during a mission? Or, for something more mundane, if one of them simply fell ill instead? For some role reversal, maybe it's Kanami's turn to take care of Mai? Or maybe they manage to steal a few romantic moments alone together? How does Kanami get along with Mai's sisters as her girlfriend?
* Itomi Sayaka/Yanase Mai: With Mai training new Toji and Sayaka part of the new elite guard, how do they find time to be alone together? Are they able to take missions together? What if Sayaka was seriously injured during one such mission? How would Mai care for her? Or maybe Mai is injured instead? Maybe a love confession comes when they're caught up in the moment of surviving a particularly brutal battle? How does Mai help Sayaka recover from the aradama experiments? Re. Cerise/Cedar: Tbh I just really love them. They’re roommates and they become friends through Raven. Cerise is confident in herself and Cedar seems to be happy with her destiny, although she sides with her friends’ decision to allow everyone a choice. They seem like a strong couple.
Re. Darling/Apple: Absolutely love their relationship. They have a very similar background but are fundamentally different (Darling not being excited about her destiny vs Apple embracing it). Darling tends to embrace who she truly is, but she does so in private. Their dynamic really interests me, especially since Apple was basically betrothed to Darling’s brother since birth. Obviously both families have a lot of issues and they likely have a lot of things to work through, both together and apart.

Re. Firestar/Tigerclaw: When I first read The Prophecies Begin (sorry I keep coming back to this), I was actually a huge Tigerclaw apologist and really wanted to see a redemption arc for him. I also love Tigerclaw’s struggles as a child re: his father leaving ThunderClan to be a kittypet and having to work through the fact that Firestar was a former kittypet. I just - I really love redeemed Tigerclaw.
Re. Lionheart/Whitestorm/Tigerclaw: These three grew up around the same time and were senior warriors together the start of The Prophecies Begin. I would love something exploring their relationship and how they got together, or maybe something describing their lives during the break between Bluestar’s Prophecy and Into The Wild.

Re. Hamilton/Jefferson/Madison: Idk what it is about these three, I just love them together. Jefferson and Madison are very close friends, and Hamilton has made an enemy of them both. It’s interesting to watch this resentment grow into something else entirely. Having them as an established relationship is also interesting, as you get an insight into the way they fit together and the compromises both sides have made for love vs enmity.
Re. Hamilton/Jefferson: This is one of the only enemies to lovers relationships I like. They get off on the wrong foot with each other immediately and both hate the other’s politics. I would love to see an exploration of them getting together, to see how the dynamics between them change as they grow from enemies to lovers. I also do love established relationships though.
Re. Burr/Hamilton: I think this is the relationship I find most interesting. They start off as friends (even though Burr seems to find Hamilton and his friends a little…loud), eventually become frenemies as Burr seeks power, and end up enemies, concluding when Burr kills Hamilton. I would love to see insights into Burr’s mindset, especially regarding his talk less smile more philosophy and how he acts differently based on the person whose favor he wishes to garner. I would love to see them grow together too, and watch both characters mellow each other out.
Fandom-General: Modern aus!!! I love modern political aus for these characters and watching how the author fits them into present day government. I like college aus for this fandom too. Also, if writing a modern au, I am a huge sucker for politics. Like I am absolutely obsessed. Throw in as much politics as you like if you decide to write a modern au. John/Ronon/Rodney I think that Rodney and Ronon each give John something very different that he needs. I'd be interested in a story in which figuring out how to make that work doesn't come easily. Maybe it never does, or they figure it out, or they do and then it comes apart. Do they repress stuff? Do they fight? Is there whump, angst, life-or-death situations? Balanced with protectiveness, loyalty, trust (and tests of these things)? Also banter, making fun of and being lovingly amused at each other, and all three knowing one another really well (even when no one knows anything about John)?
Sheppard, Carter, Caldwell, etc. I'm interested in John's relationship with authority, and I think these are all great ways to explore that. If including all three, I'm happy for it to be Sheppard/Caldwell or all gen.
With Caldwell, he's senior but Shep was there first, and gets his way a lot, and got the job Caldwell wanted. How does this play out if they're fraternizing?
With Carter, how does authority shift or not shift, officially but also interpersonally, when Sam takes over as head of the expedition? She outranks John (but not Caldwell) but she's in an IOA position, she's Samantha Carter of SG-1, but John's going to do what John's going to do. I enjoy how the show depicts the dynamic of that, and I'd like to see it explored more.
John/Teyla/Todd, Wraith I'm interested in Teyla's relation to the Wraithness, which is gift and power and horror; in John drawn to the thing that comprised his torture; in John and Teyla's absolute trust, set against John and Todd's trust games, and the shake-up of both of those. There's so much twisty potential here, which I'd enjoy balanced by SGA's humanity and humor.

I love Royal Abbott, I just find him very compelling, and I'm hoping someone who sees this does too, or gives Outer Range a try and comes to see what I see in him too. I love how quiet he is except when he's pushed past his limits, I love not knowing what things are secrets he's keeping and what things are secrets even he doesn't know about himself, I love all the uncertainty and the vastness and the way he's just trying to be in the face of all that. I love that he is both the outsider and the core. I love the intensity of his interactions with everybody and everything and the way he seems to need to keep his own counsel because of how intense it all is. Or maybe it's because of how perplexing it all is. (And I love a character who's in charge but not, competent but lost.) I'd like to think there are both biographical and intrinsic reasons for him to be the way he is. I like him best out on the ranch by himself--or if at home or in the town still somehow by himself, even when he's trying to be part of people and sometimes even succeeding at it.
This is especially relevant in my Royal/Cecilia request, because I'm really appreciative of the depiction of this moment in their marriage, the way separately and together, they're trying to understand (or even just process) and respond to all the difficult, testing, and insane things that are happening to/around them. They're close but apart, a unit but individuals, intimate but full of secrets or simply moments and interior evolutions they have to face on their own. They try to connect and to continue to be there for each other, even while they've each got their own spheres and beliefs and trials, anguishes and despairs (and mysterious animal encounters).
I love how in the show, everything is simultaneously beautiful and bewildering, big and intimate, contained and out of control, and the whole thing is about the tension between throwing yourself to that and trying to make some kind of order. I liked how it told a complete story while leaving many things up in the air, and if you'd like to fill in details or continue the story or delve into what you think happened or just show the characters apart from the moment the show finds them in, I think there's a lot of richness to explore.

I like Darcy in the ways I like all the favorite characters I like to do this sort of thing to: stoic, aloof, quiet, private, repressed, reserved, authoritative, proud, noble, conscientious, capable, smart... Whether he's getting some desperately needed release by consensually submitting behind closed doors, or cathartically surviving some noncon, or something in-between is happening in which there's dubcon and/or "he thought he wanted/was okay with it and got in over his head/it wasn't as he imagined" (if original characters, they could be friends, acquaintances, or strangers), I think he'd be so pretty at it.
Feel free to have this happen at any time, pre-, during, or post-canon. Or in a canon divergence. It would all work for me!

I didn't know going into reading this how much a short story featuring traumatic oviposition could move me: it moved me so much. It's about so much. Some of the things it's about that I liked: survival, necessity, connection, complicated trust, complicated feelings, fear, desperation, vulnerability, self-protection, finding strength, finding ways to be okay, bearing it (or not) when it's not, hiding things from yourself, revealing things to each other, pain, necessary pain, the things the body can and maybe shouldn't have to do...and I enjoyed the oviposition *gulp* (both the beginning and the end of it), while appreciating that it was every bit as awful as it is depicted.
The delicate balance between the whumpy intensity and the little touches that spoke to my id (the pain, the surviving it, the getting held down, the hugeness of what is happening, the cutting and the blood, coupled with a kind of tense restraint, the way T'Gatoi is very commanding but actually vulnerable and afraid too) and the not-at-all-straightfoward loving intimacy was so good, and it makes me want to probe and watch someone probe that feeling further.

The way that the avout live their cloistered lives of pure theory and the rigorous pursuit of knowledge--and truth (and beauty)--speaks so appealingly to something deep in me, and it's so enjoyable to read this version of the "first alien contact" story from their point of view. Of course, as it turns out, this contact has a lot more to do with how they think about the cosmos and what they're searching and working hard for than they realize, and I love all the ways that the themes and structures and plot and philosophy of the book echo each other.
I'd be happy to just read more about that life, before anything comes along to disturb it, whether through characters we know or new ones.
It would also be interesting to see an extrapolation of how their thought evolves after the events of the book (there must be a lot of varied personal as well as community reactions to all the upheaval), especially the alien contact aspect of it. (Would there be new avout Dialogs/Dictionary editions? Would they join the Daban Urnud with other Arbrans?) Or to go back and find out more about how their Discipline came about (such as through something about Saunt Cartas) and maybe how they would choose to honor that in their new systems on Arbre or in space. I'm fascinated by how polycosmic manipulation works, how it relates to the Hylaean flow of information from cosmos to cosmos, what it means for/does to reality. (For example in that bit with the weird messages from the support cells and the low-level reputation bug in the Reticulum.) And the borderline meta nature of it, the way that butts up against the very fact that this is a piece of narrative fiction itself--it's both how it works in-universe and in the text that's so good.
Some characters I enjoy are Fraa Erasmas, Fraa Jad, Fraa Lio, Barb/Fraa Tavener, Jules Verne Durand, Emman Beldo (poor guy! He's just a Saecular rocket scientist, and while at the Convox he has to drive his Panjandrum doyn around and cook for her and learn from/spy on the avout and learn who to trust), the Ringing Valers, Suurs Ala and Tulia (and their friendship/partnership), and also the Lorites Grandsuur Moyra and Suur Karvall.

I'm really interested in the mechanics of how Besźel and Ul Qoma work, infrastructurally and cognitively. One of my favorite things about it is the fact that ultimately, whether there is anything non-mundane going on at all is ambiguous and/or uncertain. Not only does the text not definitively say, I don't even have a strong leaning one way or the other. I'm balanced on the Unseeing (Un-Resolving?) of that mystery, even as the genre mystery is addressed. I'm really impressed by that, and by Miéville's control of information through perspective (and control of perspective through information?). To me, the detective story is mostly a tool to allow that and to give the reader some footing in the beginning, to give a slippery reality a useful, very concrete scaffold. Even the plot and the characters are mostly tools in service of it, even as they're interesting in their own right.
I'd be fascinated to see what other kinds of stories can be told about these places and the people who inhabit them, visit them, and have stakes in how, why, or that they work. I'd be interested in something set exploring any of the past, the present-day of the book, or the future (as long as the two-city relationship persists. I love this world, so I don't think I would enjoy seeing it broken). I'm also fond of the creepy-powerful-mysteriousness of Breach, which I would love preserved at the same time that I'd like to see it explored!

I root so hard for Dr. Ellie Arroway pursuing bigger and bigger antennas and listening so intently to make that connection with someone/something out there, to find that meaning that everyone in the movie is looking for. I love how intelligent, even-handed, open-mindedly searching this whole movie is, how competent the characters are and how real they feel, and also how beautifully it is made, from the big outdoors vistas to the science-ing (I'm so impressed with how it managed to make a high-tension action scene out of some astronomers moving computers and audio equipment in order to listen to a radio signal) to the science-fiction-y machine itself. (The use of sound and silence in it worked so well with Ellie's passion, and the romance of listening and radio--and SETI, but also the noise of all the talking and ideas we throw at each other.) It's a science fiction movie that's about us and what we are and what we're looking for, that long-shot chance of maybe finding something transcendental, and how good it is to search for it.
I think it'd be fitting for her to find out about the Stargate Program--I considered nominating it as general Stargate rather than SGA, but thought specific would be preferred, and if I had to choose, I think it'd be especially lovely for her to go to Atlantis. After all, she was willing, more than willing, to climb into this tech they had little real understanding of, constructed following instructions sent to them by aliens they knew nothing about, for the chance to do whatever it was they intended her to do. Plus, there's something about those moments under the stars and the big telescopes, listening, that fits, mood-wise for me with the city of spires and balconies, floating on a sea that often seems to have clear skies for stargazing. That, and SGA is my favorite, the "just right" that caught my imagination and my love.
But it also makes so much sense for her to get deeply involved with the Stargate program in our home galaxy, our homeworld, whether as part of an establishment that knows about it, as an outsider who has to piece it together, or something in between, and I think that has a lot of potential too.
Either way, it'd feel like a consolation.

I love a good, old-fashioned fusion SGA AU. Recreate John, John and Rodney, the team, the whole expedition, or some subset in a universe with interesting mechanics, and give me some fun with how they're still so them. Alternatively, throw the canonical characters into the other universe (be it a planet they visit, a whole parallel universe, or achieved some other way you can think of) and make them adapt.

On The Philosophers:
I really enjoy the 'magic as science/technology' worldbuilding, the step-by-step striving (and achieving), all the quotes from textbooks/academia/practical handbooks. I love women's colleges, the strong female departments being centers of Empirical Philosophy in all the higher-education ways, with theory/lab work/contests, rivalries and cooperation, symposia, papers, debate. But I also love that there are women practicing sigilry basically everywhere they're needed.
We see the beginnings of technological overlap with some of what sigilry can accomplish--aviation/search and rescue/medevac is the main example. Assuming a world in which empirical philosophy/sigilry manages to continue and even thrive, what does that interaction look like later in the 20th century?
On John Sheppard:
I love the John who chafes at the yoke of authority but is a natural leader and craves to be told what to do, the sometimes awkward, high-verbal yet quiet loner who’s charming and attaches deeply, the slacker who likes to go fast and can't not do something when he believes it needs doing, will do anything, push himself beyond his limits, risk himself before anyone else--out of responsibility and rather-him-than-them. I love him resilient, strong, stoic, competent (even when he makes bad choices). I love a narrative that rewards him for being like this, even as it puts him through the wringer.
I asked for McShep on two of these because I think those worlds would be extra interesting with that element. You're welcome to include it in the others too if you'd like, or ships I've asked for elsewhere.

Prompts: I was always sad that there weren’t more interactions between Vincent and Heather because I thought their power dynamic is interesting. I love that Vincent knows more about the world and what Heather represents than she does but gives very little. Just enough to make her freak out and question reality. So, any story based on that would be amazing. This is also one of the few fandoms I lean into the A/B/O situation-minus the animal part-where I think Vincent watching/hunting Heather would fit really well, waiting for his chance to strike. Honestly, go crazy with this one. AU’s, gore, torture of any kind, seriously…this pairing is one where the author can lose their self and I will be happy.

Prompts: These two are detectives and I love how Holder is this easy going, chill guy with a dark past while Sarah is the exact opposite. He is constantly trying to get her to crack and she is always putting up her walls. I would love to see a story where maybe Holder relapses and goes to her for help while in a drugged out state. Or, maybe a story where they’re on a case and Sarah is kidnapped, forced to take a drug as a warning to Holder and he has to help her through it and the aftermath. Honestly, I would love a story where it’s a play on their power dynamic but in a darker, more serious tone that touches on Holder’s drug past with of course a romantic aspect as well.

Prompts: I’ve always wondered what exactly happened during the deal making between Hade’s and Eurydice. I’ve been curious too about how this play would look through Hade’s eyes and his lust for Eurydice once he tempted her into the Underworld. Even though he says ‘the girl means nothing to me’ she does in the sense she is another object for him to posses. What would happen if she tried to run away? Or if she holds back from joining his side? How does Persephone deal with all of this? I love the idea too of Persephone joining in and toying with Eurydice as well for Hades.

Raynie & Kiana
I like Raynie a lot; we don’t get a whole lot on her, but what we do get paints her as someone who’s having a very interesting life of her own, utterly divorced from the timeloop shenanigans (except re: the shifter children thing). I like her and Kiana’s friendship, too; I like how when we finally see more of them both we learn more about how they’re similar and different.
(I do also like Kiana! But I have less to say about her individually.)
If you want to go pre-canon I’d really love something with Raynie initially going to Cyoria and how she befriended Kiana in the first place (or, perhaps more likely, how Kiana befriended her; I somehow doubt that Raynie age 13, recently semi-exiled from her tribe, was particularly in search of outsider friends).
For post-canon, really, anything dealing with the fallout of all the things that go down in the real world would be fantastic too.
Novelty & Tinami
These two have a really fun dynamic and I would love to see something further exploring that--in the real world, maybe, where it can progress into something longer-term than a month allows? How does Tinami feel about the aranea, once she knows them as beings instead of myths?

- Kiri and Fortov aren't really described; I'm not sure Tinami is. I've always pictured Kiri with long straight-ish dark blond hair, and Tinami with straight dark brown hair. Fortov has short straight-ish hair in my head, but idk about the color--something in the brown spectrum. I've pictured the Kazinski kids as light-skinned; I don't have a fixed mental image of Tinami in that regard. Feel free to go with these or with anything that catches your fancy.

This movie is very moody, I think, in the best way; it relies a lot on inference and audience knowledge of the relevant legends in interesting ways, and I'd be very much interested in something that took that sort of moody ephemeral feeling and did, well, more of it, I suppose.

I love dragons lmao, (almost) any kind of dragons! What are they like? I do prefer that they not be... mindlessly hostile, I suppose; they don't need to be friendly, and they don't need to talk or think like people do, but I would prefer them to not simply treat humans as attack-on-sight, you know?
As for visual design, I have yet to meet a dragon design I didn't like--wings? no wings? two, four, six, more limbs? feel free to get weird here if you want!
These tags give me the impression that the dragons are pretty big, but if you want to make them small instead I'm sure it'll be great!

The contrast here, I think, is what amuses me most about this pair--she may be a supervillain, but that doesn't mean she can have parts of her lair becoming an accidental death trap! think of how hard it would be to hire minions if all of them died or were horribly injured in avoidable workplace accidents!

Of all the Kazinski siblings, we see Fortov the least, and we know that Zorian doesn’t like him much at all, but it’s also pretty clear that Zorian isn’t a totally reliable narrator when it comes to Fortov. So tell me about him! What’s it like to be Fortov Kazinski, generally charismatic middle child who isn’t a total overachiever in any field?

If you want to focus on Kirielle’s relationship with someone else, for Zorian, I love their dynamic! And I’d really enjoy seeing their relationship developing in real time. I think it would be great to see either of them defending the other to their parents—maybe Zorian ends up with custody of Kiri, definitely things to explore there. For Nochka, they’re adorable and I’d love a further development of their friendship, especially getting to see it grow and develop after the invasion. If you want to write about her and Zach, they seem to have a lot of fun teaming up against Zorian, I really enjoy their dynamic and how they play off each other. Or you could go with someone else entirely!
I’d also be here for any sort of solo story about/character study of Kiri, really, but I’m gonna prompt a few specific things anyway.
- She grows up a little, and becomes a student mage—what’s that like for her, especially having received Zorian’s tutelage?
- She grows up a little, and doesn’t seriously pursue magic—does she devote herself more seriously to art? Do something else? Get away from her parents, and get to just be a kid for a little longer than her siblings?
- By some mechanism, Kirielle gets pulled into the time loop, whether with Zorian, instead of him, or in some utterly unrelated incident. Maybe she's even the Controller, somehow. What’s it like to grow older and older in life experience while your body remains stubbornly nine? How does this change the story?

Like Raynie, she also seems to be someone who's got an interesting story going on that has nothing whatsoever to do with the main drama; I'd love to see something exploring that! She's initially presented as not a very serious person by Zorian's perspective, but when we actually see her there's more to her than that--tell me about her!
Or maybe a story about one of those loops when Zach told her he was a time traveler and they went exploring together?

first of all: the only part of Friends at the Table that I have actually listened to is the little Fall of Magic series; as the characters I have requested are from that game I do not expect this to be a problem but i thought it should be said.
secondly... I love this game. I love how weird and ephemeral and overtly magical it is, how that magic manifests in different ways in different places but is still very much present even as it's dying. The sense of melancholy, of an old magical world and a changing new one, pervades the game and it's a tone I sort of fell in love with.
I requested Fawn and Caspian because... well, mostly because I actually had to choose characters for this, and worldbuilding didn't quite seem fair to request when I'm only interested in a tiny corner of the canon, but also because they're ambiguous and old in a way a lot of elements of the story are, and I would love to see something that explores that.
They also describe a lot of very enchanting visuals; if you want to illustrate some of those as a comic I wouldn't mind if the focus is somewhere other than Fawn or Caspian. I just would like more of this world, and the people who live in it through its changes.

Being the father-figure of the group, how does Julie care for the others? How does he feel about having a family again? For backstory, there's his life with his wife and daughter (and Julie was quite young when his daughter was born), or you could explore his grief after their deaths. What about some father/daughter-bonding with Ai? How much does he tell Ai about his family, or does she ask him about her parents?
For romance, I ship him with Scar as they bond over Celica together, and also Julie/Dee; he's already been married once, so would he worry about comparing Scar to his deceased wife, or would the guilt both he and Dee carry lead to them reaching out to each other for comfort?

You can't go wrong with girls with swords, and all the yuri subtext is definitely a welcomed touch. I really liked the friendship between the girls, and I also enjoy the friends-to-lovers trope. All the sword-fighting is good too - even with utsushi, fighting aradama is no easy feat, and one of the girls being injured during battle is also ripe for hurt/comfort potential.
* Etou Kanami/Yanase Mai: When Kanami finally returns from the netherworld, how does Mai react? Does she finally take that chance to confess her feelings? Does their reunion turn intimate? Or are they immediately thrust into aradama-hunting missions again? What kind of aradama do they encounter? What if one of them was seriously injured during a mission? Or, for something more mundane, if one of them simply fell ill instead? For some role reversal, maybe it's Kanami's turn to take care of Mai? Or maybe they manage to steal a few romantic moments alone together? How does Kanami get along with Mai's sisters as her girlfriend?
* Itomi Sayaka/Yanase Mai: With Mai training new Toji and Sayaka part of the new elite guard, how do they find time to be alone together? Are they able to take missions together? What if Sayaka was seriously injured during one such mission? How would Mai care for her? Or maybe Mai is injured instead? Maybe a love confession comes when they're caught up in the moment of surviving a particularly brutal battle? How does Mai help Sayaka recover from the aradama experiments? Re. Dexter/Raven: idk I just really like something abt the whole choosing to love each other thing. Also, Dexter has no idea what his destiny is vs Raven being destined to become basically the greatest villain the world has ever known. The dynamic of him basically being unimportant and her wishing she was the same is really cool to me.
Re. Raven: I love her whole journey of being the first person to stand up to the expectations of the world, especially regarding her mother. The way she embraces her own decisions after virtually giving up and being about to sign the book also really intrigues me. And idk she doesn’t seem to like the spotlight or attention much, so her choosing to write her own destiny is significant in that regard as well.
Re. Cerise/Cedar: Tbh I just really love them. They’re roommates and they become friends through Raven. Cerise is confident in herself and Cedar seems to be happy with her destiny, although she sides with her friends’ decision to allow everyone a choice. They seem like a strong couple.
Re. Darling/Apple: Absolutely love their relationship. They have a very similar background but are fundamentally different (Darling not being excited about her destiny vs Apple embracing it). Darling tends to embrace who she truly is, but she does so in private. Their dynamic really interests me, especially since Apple was basically betrothed to Darling’s brother since birth. Obviously both families have a lot of issues and they likely have a lot of things to work through, both together and apart.
Fandom-General: I mentioned this in my general likes, but I especially love character studies for this fandom. I feel like each character has such a unique perspective on things based on their own destiny and I love getting a glimpse of it.

Re: Quackity/Karl/Sapnap: I really like these three. I feel like c!Quackity has been through so much and he finally finds relief in this relationship. Re. Lionheart/Whitestorm/Tigerclaw: These three grew up around the same time and were senior warriors together the start of The Prophecies Begin. Re. Hamilton/Jefferson/Madison: Idk what it is about these three, I just love them together. Jefferson and Madison are very close friends, and Hamilton has made an enemy of them both. It’s interesting to watch this resentment grow into something else entirely. Having them as an established relationship is also interesting, as you get an insight into the way they fit together and the compromises both sides have made for love vs enmity.
Re. Hamilton/Jefferson: This is one of the only enemies to lovers relationships I like. They get off on the wrong foot with each other immediately and both hate the other’s politics. I would love to see an exploration of them getting together, to see how the dynamics between them change as they grow from enemies to lovers. I also do love established relationships though.
Re. Burr/Hamilton: I think this is the relationship I find most interesting. They start off as friends (even though Burr seems to find Hamilton and his friends a little…loud), eventually become frenemies as Burr seeks power, and end up enemies, concluding when Burr kills Hamilton. I would love to see insights into Burr’s mindset, especially regarding his talk less smile more philosophy and how he acts differently based on the person whose favor he wishes to garner. I would love to see them grow together too, and watch both characters mellow each other out.
Fandom-General: Modern aus!!! I love modern political aus for these characters and watching how the author fits them into present day government. I like college aus for this fandom too. Oh, John.
If you can make me happy-wistfully sigh this, you've given me much of what I want. I love John resilient, strong, stoic, competent, stubborn, throwing himself around in self-sacrifice, skittish about feelings--see my John-based crossover request for more.
(To give just one of the many things I love about SGA: getting a second chance at a time when you've reached a dead end, whether it's because you messed up or things haven't gone well so far/the options in life have narrowed or you've been busy surviving. And not just any second chance! Something that feels right for the first time ever. Full of connection, achievements, collegiality. Not so much team as family as team for itself. And learning to love life, self, them, the universe.)
John/Ronon/Rodney I think that Rodney and Ronon each give John something very different that he needs. I'd be interested in a story in which figuring out how to make that work doesn't come easily. Maybe it never does, or they figure it out, or they do and then it comes apart. Do they repress stuff? Do they fight? Is there whump, angst, life-or-death situations? Balanced with protectiveness, loyalty, trust (and tests of these things)? Also banter, making fun of and being lovingly amused at each other, and all three knowing one another really well (even when no one knows anything about John)?
Sheppard, Carter, Caldwell, etc. I'm interested in John's relationship with authority, and I think these are all great ways to explore that. If including all three, I'm happy for it to be Sheppard/Caldwell or all gen.
With Caldwell, he's senior but Shep was there first, and gets his way a lot, and got the job Caldwell wanted. How does this play out if they're fraternizing?
With Carter, how does authority shift or not shift, officially but also interpersonally, when Sam takes over as head of the expedition? She outranks John (but not Caldwell) but she's in an IOA position, she's Samantha Carter of SG-1, but John's going to do what John's going to do. I enjoy how the show depicts the dynamic of that, and I'd like to see it explored more.
John/Teyla/Todd, Wraith I'm interested in Teyla's relation to the Wraithness, which is gift and power and horror; in John drawn to the thing that comprised his torture; in John and Teyla's absolute trust, set against John and Todd's trust games, and the shake-up of both of those. There's so much twisty potential here, which I'd enjoy balanced by SGA's humanity and humor.

I love Royal Abbott, I just find him very compelling, and I'm hoping someone who sees this does too, or gives Outer Range a try and comes to see what I see in him too. I love how quiet he is except when he's pushed past his limits, I love not knowing what things are secrets he's keeping and what things are secrets even he doesn't know about himself, I love all the uncertainty and the vastness and the way he's just trying to be in the face of all that. I love that he is both the outsider and the core. I love the intensity of his interactions with everybody and everything and the way he seems to need to keep his own counsel because of how intense it all is. Or maybe it's because of how perplexing it all is. (And I love a character who's in charge but not, competent but lost.) I'd like to think there are both biographical and intrinsic reasons for him to be the way he is. I like him best out on the ranch by himself--or if at home or in the town still somehow by himself, even when he's trying to be part of people and sometimes even succeeding at it.
This is especially relevant in my Royal/Cecilia request, because I'm really appreciative of the depiction of this moment in their marriage, the way separately and together, they're trying to understand (or even just process) and respond to all the difficult, testing, and insane things that are happening to/around them. They're close but apart, a unit but individuals, intimate but full of secrets or simply moments and interior evolutions they have to face on their own. They try to connect and to continue to be there for each other, even while they've each got their own spheres and beliefs and trials, anguishes and despairs (and mysterious animal encounters).
I love how in the show, everything is simultaneously beautiful and bewildering, big and intimate, contained and out of control, and the whole thing is about the tension between throwing yourself to that and trying to make some kind of order. I liked how it told a complete story while leaving many things up in the air, and if you'd like to fill in details or continue the story or delve into what you think happened or just show the characters apart from the moment the show finds them in, I think there's a lot of richness to explore.

Whether he's getting some desperately needed release by consensually submitting behind closed doors, or cathartically surviving some noncon, or something in-between is happening in which there's dubcon and/or "he thought he wanted/was okay with it and got in over his head/it wasn't as he imagined" (if original characters, they could be friends, acquaintances, or strangers), I think he'd be so pretty at it.

I didn't know going into reading this how much a short story featuring traumatic oviposition could move me: it moved me so much. It's about so much. Some of the things it's about that I liked: survival, necessity, connection, complicated trust, complicated feelings, fear, desperation, vulnerability, self-protection, finding strength, finding ways to be okay, bearing it (or not) when it's not, hiding things from yourself, revealing things to each other, pain, necessary pain, the things the body can and maybe shouldn't have to do...and I enjoyed the oviposition *gulp* (both the beginning and the end of it), while appreciating that it was every bit as awful as it is depicted.
The delicate balance between the whumpy intensity and the little touches that spoke to my id (the pain, the surviving it, the getting held down, the hugeness of what is happening, the cutting and the blood, coupled with a kind of tense restraint, the way T'Gatoi is very commanding but actually vulnerable and afraid too) and the not-at-all-straightfoward loving intimacy was so good, and it makes me want to probe and watch someone probe that feeling further.

The way that the avout live their cloistered lives of pure theory and the rigorous pursuit of knowledge--and truth (and beauty)--speaks so appealingly to something deep in me, and it's so enjoyable to read this version of the "first alien contact" story from their point of view. Of course, as it turns out, this contact has a lot more to do with how they think about the cosmos and what they're searching and working hard for than they realize, and I love all the ways that the themes and structures and plot and philosophy of the book echo each other.
I'd be happy to just read more about that life, before anything comes along to disturb it, whether through characters we know or new ones.
It would also be interesting to see an extrapolation of how their thought evolves after the events of the book (there must be a lot of varied personal as well as community reactions to all the upheaval), especially the alien contact aspect of it. (Would there be new avout Dialogs/Dictionary editions? Would they join the Daban Urnud with other Arbrans?) Or to go back and find out more about how their Discipline came about (such as through something about Saunt Cartas) and maybe how they would choose to honor that in their new systems on Arbre or in space. I'm fascinated by how polycosmic manipulation works, how it relates to the Hylaean flow of information from cosmos to cosmos, what it means for/does to reality. (For example in that bit with the weird messages from the support cells and the low-level reputation bug in the Reticulum.) And the borderline meta nature of it, the way that butts up against the very fact that this is a piece of narrative fiction itself--it's both how it works in-universe and in the text that's so good.
Some characters I enjoy are Fraa Erasmas, Fraa Jad, Fraa Lio, Barb/Fraa Tavener, Jules Verne Durand, Emman Beldo (poor guy! He's just a Saecular rocket scientist, and while at the Convox he has to drive his Panjandrum doyn around and cook for her and learn from/spy on the avout and learn who to trust), the Ringing Valers, Suurs Ala and Tulia (and their friendship/partnership), and also the Lorites Grandsuur Moyra and Suur Karvall.

I'm really interested in the mechanics of how Besźel and Ul Qoma work, infrastructurally and cognitively. One of my favorite things about it is the fact that ultimately, whether there is anything non-mundane going on at all is ambiguous and/or uncertain. Not only does the text not definitively say, I don't even have a strong leaning one way or the other. I'm balanced on the Unseeing (Un-Resolving?) of that mystery, even as the genre mystery is addressed. I'm really impressed by that, and by Miéville's control of information through perspective (and control of perspective through information?). To me, the detective story is mostly a tool to allow that and to give the reader some footing in the beginning, to give a slippery reality a useful, very concrete scaffold. Even the plot and the characters are mostly tools in service of it, even as they're interesting in their own right.
I'd be fascinated to see what other kinds of stories can be told about these places and the people who inhabit them, visit them, and have stakes in how, why, or that they work. I'd be interested in something set exploring any of the past, the present-day of the book, or the future (as long as the two-city relationship persists. I love this world, so I don't think I would enjoy seeing it broken). I'm also fond of the creepy-powerful-mysteriousness of Breach, which I would love preserved at the same time that I'd like to see it explored!

I root so hard for Dr. Ellie Arroway pursuing bigger and bigger antennas and listening so intently to make that connection with someone/something out there, to find that meaning that everyone in the movie is looking for. I love how intelligent, even-handed, open-mindedly searching this whole movie is, how competent the characters are and how real they feel, and also how beautifully it is made, from the big outdoors vistas to the science-ing (I'm so impressed with how it managed to make a high-tension action scene out of some astronomers moving computers and audio equipment in order to listen to a radio signal) to the science-fiction-y machine itself. (The use of sound and silence in it worked so well with Ellie's passion, and the romance of listening and radio--and SETI, but also the noise of all the talking and ideas we throw at each other.) It's a science fiction movie that's about us and what we are and what we're looking for, that long-shot chance of maybe finding something transcendental, and how good it is to search for it.
I think it'd be fitting for her to find out about the Stargate Program--I considered nominating it as general Stargate rather than SGA, but thought specific would be preferred, and if I had to choose, I think it'd be especially lovely for her to go to Atlantis. After all, she was willing, more than willing, to climb into this tech they had little real understanding of, constructed following instructions sent to them by aliens they knew nothing about, for the chance to do whatever it was they intended her to do. Plus, there's something about those moments under the stars and the big telescopes, listening, that fits, mood-wise for me with the city of spires and balconies, floating on a sea that often seems to have clear skies for stargazing. That, and SGA is my favorite, the "just right" that caught my imagination and my love.
But it also makes so much sense for her to get deeply involved with the Stargate program in our home galaxy, our homeworld, whether as part of an establishment that knows about it, as an outsider who has to piece it together, or something in between, and I think that has a lot of potential too.
Either way, it'd feel like a consolation.
I'm fine with whatever amount of fusion or crossover massaging to make it work, from changing details of what is publicly disclosed to shifting timelines or maybe parallel universes?

I love a good, old-fashioned fusion SGA AU. Recreate John, John and Rodney, the team, the whole expedition, or some subset in a universe with interesting mechanics, and give me some fun with how they're still so them. Alternatively, throw the canonical characters into the other universe (be it a planet they visit, a whole parallel universe, or achieved some other way you can think of) and make them adapt.

On The Philosophers:
I really enjoy the 'magic as science/technology' worldbuilding, the step-by-step striving (and achieving), all the quotes from textbooks/academia/practical handbooks. I love women's colleges, the strong female departments being centers of Empirical Philosophy in all the higher-education ways, with theory/lab work/contests, rivalries and cooperation, symposia, papers, debate. But I also love that there are women practicing sigilry basically everywhere they're needed.
We see the beginnings of technological overlap with some of what sigilry can accomplish--aviation/search and rescue/medevac is the main example. Assuming a world in which empirical philosophy/sigilry manages to continue and even thrive, what does that interaction look like later in the 20th century?
On John Sheppard:
I love the John who chafes at the yoke of authority but is a natural leader and craves to be told what to do, the sometimes awkward, high-verbal yet quiet loner who’s charming and attaches deeply, the slacker who likes to go fast and can't not do something when he believes it needs doing, will do anything, push himself beyond his limits, risk himself before anyone else--out of responsibility and rather-him-than-them. I love him resilient, strong, stoic, competent (even when he makes bad choices). I love a narrative that rewards him for being like this, even as it puts him through the wringer.
I asked for McShep on two of these because I think those worlds would be extra interesting with that element. You're welcome to include it in the others too if you'd like, or ships I've asked for elsewhere.
