Sign-Up and Ongoing Nominations Notes

I am excited to see everyone's sign-ups and canon promos!

Nominations
I've added several nominations to the tag set. I have questions about the following ones:

Digimon - All Media Types
Could I check which parts of the franchise you are interested in, please?

Dragon Age (Video Games)
-Dragon Age: Origins Companions/Warden: this is very broad, could you narrow it down, please?
-Female Warden/Male Warden (Dragon Age): I'd like to check I understand this one: do two Wardens normally exist at the same time, ie, is this a prompt for a specific AU?

Mayor of Kingstown (TV)
-Any/Mike McLusky (MOK TV): I will not approve a Character/Any tag. I'm happy to approve a specific relationship. (Char: MikeMcLusky (MOK TV) is already in the tag set.)

Star Wars Original Trilogy
-Leia Organa & Luke Skywalker & Mace Windu (SW:OT): I can't seem to find a reference to Mace Windu appearing in the original trilogy. Could you confirm that please?


Sign-ups
Your optional details must contain some positive information about your preferences. Prompts are great! So are likes, and talking about what you love about the canon. If you have no prompts or similar when sign-ups close, I will contact you and give you a few days to add something or be removed from the challenge. However, I strongly recommend you include something ahead of time, a) so that people are attracted to your requests and b) to avoid the formatting hassle of passing your edits through me.

If writing a letter, please link it before sign-ups close.

Treats!
Since our last round, AO3 has implemented a feature to give users more control over the gifts they receive. In short, you can opt out of receiving treats from creators who were not assigned to you in an exchange or prompt fest. If you have chosen to disable the setting allowing you to receive treats, please say so in your request details to prevent people from starting a treat from you and getting disappointed.

FFFX has measures in place to allow recipients to receive from multiple creators even if the treat setting is disabled. If this is likely to be an issue for you, please get in touch with me to discuss (mod.modzilla@gmail.com) - I hope we can work out something we are both comfortable with.

You may also have other treat preferences worth mentioning in your sign-up details - for example if you requested comics only, but you would enjoy a fic treat.

(Sadly, I didn't even end up getting to use Mayor of Kingstown anyway because there were too many fandoms I wanted 😭 Much to my extreme sadness, MOK did not make the cut.)

Question: When you say "Your optional details must contain some positive information about your preferences" does that mean the text has to be directly in the Optional Details box, or is a link to a letter with that info sufficient? Just wanted to make sure, because I can copy some stuff into the optional details box if it's the former

Yes, thank you, there needs to be something in the optional details box itself that gives a positive indication of what you want in a story or comic.

Sorry I thought of a second question 😅 Very sorry if these are things you've already said/explained I'm sure it's annoying as hell to have to repeat.

Treats don't have to be 10K+ as well, do they?

Questions are welcome, and no, treats don't have to be 10k+. There is no minimum size requirement for treats - if people have specific preferences like "no drabbles" it's up to them to say so.

Dragon Age Nominations

If I'm only interested in a specific subfandom of a fandom already present in the tagset, should I go ahead and nominate that? if so, is there a way you'd prefer it to be formatted?

The fandom in question is Friends at the Table, which is a real play podcast that has run multiple disconnected campaigns, none of which have canonical subtags for them. I am interested in the game/campaign they ran called Fall of Magic, and might be interested in nominating a "worldbuilding" tag, which I would certainly not want to just nominate in the main parent fandom when interested only in this part (though one does exist there).

How would you prefer me to handle this?

Thanks for asking. I'll try to keep that fandom in mind for discussion next year, but since we're past the main nominations phase, I'd prefer not to approve a fandom sub-set or a topic-specific worldbuilding tag. For worldbuilding, are there any specific original character types that might help narrow down to the area you're interested in?

Got it, so I should nominate under the already approved canonical fandom? As for the worldbuilding, I'll probably just pick two characters and nominate them, since the late nominations are so limited anyway; that should work for what I'm trying to ask for anyway, I think.

(I'd say it's more world-specific Worldbuilding than topic-specific, but given the limited nominations at this stage that's not a hill I'm willing to die on lmao)

Are treats only allowed if they're gifted to someone or is it all right to gift treats to the collection without a specific recipient?
