Schedule and Description

FFFX stands for Five Figure Fic Exchange. It is a multifandom gift exchange for fanfic of 10,000+ words. By request, in its first year it is actually "Five Figure Fanwork Exchange", and is also open to artists to create a comic of minimum at least 10 pages or at least 40 panels.

Schedule

Check-in Week**: 16-22 November

Works revealed: 27 February - delayed to 12 March

Creators revealed: 13 March - delayed to 26 March

*What is Assignment Swap Week? This is when you can request to trade in your current assignment for a different one. This is intended as a safety net. Maybe you tried a new fandom to match a request and it didn't work out. Maybe you matched on something safe, but fell in love with a different fandom in the month in between. Whether you can swap to the new assignment of your choice will depend on several factors, including whether several other people are already creating for it.

**What is Check-In Week? This is when you contact the mod on a check-in post at this community to confirm that you are committed to fulfilling your assignment(s). If you do not check in, you will be defaulted.

FFFX follows the pattern of many other Archive-of-Our-Own-based multifandom exchanges. The pool of available fandoms is created by nominations (eight fandoms, with five characters or relationships each, per person, with selective additions possible during sign-ups). When signing up, you can offer and request as few as four fandoms, with one character or relationship in each, or as many as ten fandoms, with ten relationships in each. You will match on one of those characters or relationships (OR matching). FFFX allows original works prompts. FFFX does not match on freeform tags or rating. Because this is a longfic exchange and many creators like to have something to go on, you are required to put either prompts, or notes on what appeals to you about a fandom, or both, in your requests.

Fandom promotion posts and guides to where your canon can be found are encouraged.

The mod can be reached at mod.modzilla@gmail.com as well as through this Dreamwidth community.

Question: has it been decided how the MCU will be nominated? For example, can I nominate Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, and Ant-Man as separate fandoms?

Would the mod(s) be open to allowing podfic, either of a work that's over 10k words or whose completed & edited form is over 1 hour (five figures on the clock in the 00:00:00 form)?

Would you be able to make a fandom promo post when nominations open so that people can start checking things out immediately?

Oooh, interesting! Maybe one post for easier bookmarking?

Is there any way to sneak in one more page of nominations? I had the page open but nominations closed before I hit submit :(

Regarding the 2x5,000 word fic options -- would it be possible to use other permutations of that to fulfill the exchange requirement, if the recipient has requested Fanfic & Fanart?

For example, someone who has opted into 2x5k fics and they've requested Fanart and Fanfic.

* Would 2x5 page comics fulfill the requirement
* or 1x5k fic and 1x5page comic

Just wanting to know to think about how widely I offer on fandoms and ships. Thanks!

Are there any particular requirements for style/polish in art? Some exchanges specify whether, eg, line art is sufficient or if there are further requirements--is the only one here that it be a comic which is complete?

sounds good--thanks for clarifying!

Can treats be gifted to more than one person, if both have requested the same thing?

comic length

Just to quickly double-check the comics length requirement--that's minimums, right? so you could have a 10-page comic with only 30 panels, or a 40 panel comic that was only 9 pages--or do I have that backwards?

Do treats have to be 5k or 10k long, or can 1k or 2k treats be posted too?

Hi! Is the deadline extended for PHs that were originally due today?
