I'm a bit out of my depth here, sorry. What does Homestuck 2 refer to, specifically? Is that the canon also formatted as Homestuck^2? Is Homestuck 1 the original Homestuck, or everything that isn't Homestuck^2? Help please.

I'm not the nominator for this tagset, but I've nominated Journey for other exchanges. There are no character names in Journey, and no spoken dialogue. The fandom convention is to call the characters that appear in the game by their cloak colors (Red Cloak and White Cloak). Because the game is semi-cooperative, you often get "friends" that show up along the way. They can be wearing red cloaks or white cloaks, so Red Cloak/Red Cloak is generally understood by Journey fandom to mean two different characters wearing red cloaks.

Precursor is not a standard name for the character that appears to "teach" the main character about the history of the world, but to someone in the fandom, it's fairly obvious who it refers to. The character is also called Ancestor or Guardian.

I'm the Journey nominator! I used the term "Precursor" because I was having a brainfart. This is probably fine (because everyone in the fandom will know what it means) but changing it to the more standard Ancestor or Guardian would also be fine.

Regarding whether these are original or canonical character tags, red cloaks and white cloaks are like Among Us characters: they're unique but fungible and have canonical experiences (essentially the same for each) but not personalities nor really names. "Red Cloak/Red Cloak" and "Original Red Cloak/Original Red Cloak" are basically synonyms, so I nominated in the format that resembled Among Us' nominations.

(Also, sorry about inexplicably leaving out Group: on these nominations, Modzilla. My Journey brainfart was weirdly comprehensive.)

When writing Steve/Tony in Marvel Noir, the authors make up how Steve would fit in that universe. It's commonly accepted within Noir fandom that some version of Steve exists, the creator just makes up how he exists.

This is mine! Sorry, HP can be HP-JKR. I don’t have strong feelings about whether the Twilight part is put with the movies or the books, as I haven’t read all the books yet. Wherever all the other Twilight noms are is fine!

I’m not an expert on this canon, but I believe Alice’s last name is Cullen. Carlisle Cullen is the foster father of all the vampire “kids.” This was not my nom, but I think it might just be a mixup with the surname.

Regarding "Alice in Borderland (TV and Manga)", I didn't nominate the fandom, but I did nominate the two tags under "今際の国のアリス | Imawa no Kuni no Alice | Alice in Borderland (TV)". The TV show so far covers the first half of the manga pretty faithfully, with slight alterations (perhaps the nominator for "TV and Manga" wanted to specify being comfortable with both versions). The characters I nominated all exist in the TV show, but get much more development in the second half of the manga. I decided to use the existing canonical tag, but I'd also be happy for my nominations to be switched over to a manga tag, which might be more accurate?

Hi, I'm the (TV and Manga) nominator! Yes, for all the reasons that you said. There aren't many differences in the versions, so it doesn't make sense to separate requests into two fandoms for requests. It's just that the TV show has only covered half the manga so far, so nominating under only TV felt strange to me. My line of thought was that I wouldn't want someone who has read the manga to feel limited to what the TV show has covered, but I also didn't want someone who has seen the TV show to feel like they needed to catch up with the manga before the next season airs, if that makes sense.

That first tag is a possibility, though I wonder if it might make people think they can't offer it unless they've seen the paintings in the 1994 book. I also see that this is a closed canon as the artist is unfortunately no longer alive.

Yes, Homestuck 1 is intended as the original run of the webcomic up to the end credits. Homestuck 2 is intended to be a name for Homestuck^2: Beyond Canon.

AO3 syns them all under Homestuck. I was hoping that the fact that they're written by different people (Andrew Hussie for HS1, and a team for HS2: https://www.homestuck2.com/credits, though Hussie did outline the story), have notably different takes on the characters, and are separated to a degree by the whole "beyond canon" bit would mean it's OK for the noms to be separate. Mostly because the dynamics of the ships I nominated would be wildly different depending on what is being drawn from.

Not the Original Work nominator, but a lot of generic DnD-inspired characters and ships do get nominated under OW--I don't think it's meant to be Forgotten Realms necessarily.

+1, I wouldn't expect that to be tied to a specific D&D setting or even a specific game IP so much as just generic hack-and-slash fantasy. Maybe change the "rolling a 1" language to "Accidentally Seduced Him by Critically Failing an Attack" if the dice-rolling reference is a problem?

Is it possible to amend an approved tag from your end? I just realized that one of my tags has a typo in it (for Naruto - the tag "Group: Momochi Zabusa/Haku & Kimimaro" should be "Group: Momochi Zabuza/Haku & Kimimaro"). Hi! This isn't especially urgent and if you don't want to bother correcting the tag it won't confuse anyone but I discovered a character who I thought wasn't named does actually have a name.

The tag is Group: The Bear that Stan Taught to Drive & Dipper Pines & Mabel Pines (Gravity Falls) under Gravity Falls. I rewatched the scene this bear appears in and to my surprise Stan calls the bear Honeypants at the end! Since this isn't a standard term of endearment, I assume that Honeypants is the bear's name. Therefore the could be changed to:

This is 99 characters and will fit! On the other hand, no one is going to remember the name of the bear without watching that clip, and I've never seen Honeypants named or discussed elsewhere — not even on the fandom wiki, which I raid for minor characters to nom for ToT every year. Correcting nominations can be really annoying, and you're really busy, and it will work just as well for me to have the tag stay as-is and just remind people of the bear's name in my letter, but I thought I'd leave the correction here since it was, technically, wrong of me to nominate the bear without the bear's name.
