And Hiroki seemed to have a somewhat normal childhood... I imagine it was a big shock to be kidnapped and put into an experiment like that out of nowhere.
Haru/Maki - Maki busting Haru out of the compound, guns-a-blazing! He certainly has the heat for it, although it might take some time for him to figure out the best way into the compound to make sure that Haru is safe. Deciding that being with Haru is worth whatever cost, even though he's tired. Or: Maki waiting patiently for Haru to return home to him.

Sample prompt (non-exhaustive): For ending D, something that I've thought a lot about (but never gotten around to writing...!) is a fic in which Daichi and Seiji end up meeting again years later... but at a parent-teacher conference. Seiji's child (any gender) is a bit of a troublemaker, and Daichi wants to make sure that this Azumi kid is getting the proper love and care they need at home, since he notices their behavior being slightly off right away. A particular dynamic I'd really be interested in for this prompt is Daichi becoming a better person after the experiment, while Seiji becomes a worse person. Them having issues connecting again, but ultimately finding some healing and closure in meeting up once more. (And possibly getting together if Seiji is a single parent??)

There's some debate among fans whether Reo and Mabu were slaves for the Otters for 10 years, or if they fought the Otters for 10 years (based on the timeline of when the Twitter ended). Both interpretations are really interesting to explore! If they were slaves to the Otters for that long, what was it like for them? How did it change their relationship to be caught in this torturous cycle of being unable to communicate for so long? And what about Reo? He was a slave to the Otters for months before Mabu was resurrected... If you go with the latter interpretation, I'd love to see them being a battle couple together, fighting a losing battle but trying to stay strong for each other. I'd also love some drama if one of them got captured and the other had to save him! (Otter noncon/dubcon is very welcome for both of these prompts, as are scenes between ReoMabu themselves. Otter can be involved with Mabu, Reo, or both.)

How long do they even have together until their love for each other is too much?
Kaoru/Tamamori - One thing that I think is interesting and kind of sad is how much Kaoru clearly loves and admires the Shopkeeper even though the Shopkeeper... wasn't that great of a parent towards him, and how the Shopkeeper cares for Kaoru in his own way but doesn't really know how to take care of him, and also how the Shopkeeper is probably so dead-set on his love for Minakami that sometimes other things fall to the wayside. It'd be great to see a fic that explores that complicated dynamic, and then how things change when Tamamori takes the Shopkeeper's mantle.

I read new manga chapters as they get translated so feel free to incorporate anything from the manga that’s available in english. I’m not spoiled for anything beyond that, so please no spoilers for future developments.
Kiriwo Amy/Suzuki Iruma
There are many good ships with Iruma, but this one just has a lot things I like. I love enemy ships with both sides being way too emotionally invested into each other so this was inevitable. I love how this relationship starts as this really wholesome friendship and school festival preparation, except Kiriwo turns out to be a bit messed up and wants to blow up everyone. But then they both accept the outcome and go on with their lives still thinking about each other. Iruma goes through a lot of trouble to keep the club operating even though Kiriwo has been pretty much expelled. And then Kiriwo is now obsessed with Iruma as his anthitesis and perfect enemy.
I’m okay with the potential story happening at any point in the canon. I would love both a story set before the festival while Kiriwo is still hiding his true colors or a story set after festival. Maybe Iruma runs into Kiriwo somewhere after he escapes prison and instead of calling an adult, he tries to stop Kiriwo from causing trouble on his own. As for pre-festival story. Maybe some upperclassmen steal important parts from the club and Iruma and Kiriwo set out to get them back.
Naberius Kalego & Suzuki Iruma
I love Kalego for being a much better take on Snape than original Snape ever was. The second the series made Kalego Iruma’s familiar I knew this was about to get good. And it was. I love how Kalego slowly warms up to Iruma, even if he is still allergic to his and Sullivan’s antics. I love that Kalego is actually a competent teacher who cares about his students, even if he would rather eat a whole lemon than admit it out loud.
For prompts, maybe Sullivan ends up having an important business and Opera isn’t available so he dumps looking after Iruma on Kalego for a few days. Or Iruma is struggling with studying since so much is new for him so Kalego ends up forced to help him catch up with the material (if you are following manga inclusion of Balam is always welcome). Or maybe Iruma gets into usual trouble ends up stranded somewhere and the only one he can call for help is his familiar.
AUs and ships
I love the worldbuilding around the demon world, so I would ask that if you decided to write an AU that it still incorporates demons. I would definitely love an AU where rather than getting summoned to demon world, Iruma accidentally summons either Kiriwo or Kalego into the human world. Maybe Iruma’s parents try to use him as an offering, but instead he ends up bound to a demon. I would love to see Kiriwo excited to unleash suffering (even if his weak powers severely limit him in that regard) onto human world just to discover that he made contract with the biggest pacifist possible. Or Kalego being torn between wanting to return home as soon as possible (he has classes to teach!) and wanting to somehow help the weird human child that just keeps getting into trouble. Any other demon-focused AU is also welcome. I’m also fine with any sort of AU divergences scenario. Maybe Iruma keeps accidentally sabbotaging Kiriwo’s terrorist plans without realizing it. Or Iruma ends up summoning Kalego more often as his familiar when he gets into trouble.
As for ships, I’d rather avoid any love triangle scenarios for this canon, so please focus on just one pairing per character (competing for Iruma’s attention is normal for this canon, I’d just rather not see outright romantic competition). It’s self-explainatory for Kiriwo request, but if you want to include some shipping elements into the Kalego request I also ship Iruma/Ameri, Iruma/Alice and Kalego/Balam.
DNW: explicit sex (makeouts and fade to black is okay), A/B/O, mpreg, rape depicted as positive (so no “it’s okay, because the other person enjoyed it/it was what they truly wanted”), trans headcanons, soulmate AUs, stories ending with surrender to fate/destiny, fourth wall breaking in canons where that doesn’t occur, character has cancer or other real-life terminal disease AU, word “queerplatonic”.

I adore how Subaru immediately gets along with Puck due to their shared admiration of Emilia. I would love a story where the two of them decide to work together to throw a surprise party for Emilia or to make a present for her. Or maybe they need to work together to protect Emilia against a threat. Or for something lighter, their shared adventures of pranking everyone they can in Roswaal’s manor. Feel free to include as much Emilia as you need for this relationship, since Puck is contracted with her.
Natsuki Subaru & Felix Argyle & Julius Euclius & Reinhard van Astrea
I immediately loved the queen candidates’ knights and the relationships between them. I would greatly enjoy seeing them work together. Maybe someone is plotting to harm queen candidates and they join forces to bring them down. Or maybe the queen candidates are busy with some bureaucracy and the bored knights decide to spend a night at town, which ends with all sorts of shenanigans. Maybe Subaru and Julius decide to have some sort of competiton that hilariously goes out of control. Or Reinhardt and Subaru rope everyone into helping some poor grandma, but her straightforward request ends up becoming much more difficult to execute than anyone predicted. Alternatively, Felix, Julius, and Reinhardt decide that Subaru has been pushing himself way too much recently and with silent blessing from Emilia they drag him into the local hot springs to make him finally rest a bit and make sure that give Felix plenty of time for some additional magical treatment.
Feel free to also include Aldebaran into the group if you want. He had very little screen time in anime, so I didn’t want to make this request more difficult than it already is, but if you want to write him too I would be very happy with his inclusion.
Natsuki Subaru & Beatrice
Beatrice is a fascinating character. She’s clearly very powerful, but ends up hiding herself in the library due to her strongly hinted tragic past. Watching Subaru try to make her open up more to him and other people is very interesting. I would love to see more of his attempts to befriend Beatrice. Maybe he suggests they do a book club and makes Beatrice choose books they should read. Or alternatively Subaru ends up trapped inside a magical book and Beatrice is the only one who can help navigate him so he can escape from it. Or alternatively a witch cultist invided the Roswaal mansion and Subaru and Beatrice need to work together to find and neutralize the threat.
AUs and ships
I would prefer no setting changes for this story, any other AUs are fine. I especially love Subaru’s reset mechanic, so feel free to abuse that if you want. If you want some AU ideas, maybe another character starts remembering bits and pieces of the reseted timelines. Or maybe Otto turns out to be a witch cultist in disguise and uses the trust he earned to cause problems.
I’m okay with acknowledging Subaru’s canon crush on Emilia, though I’d rather it wasn’t framed as an endgame ship. I’m okay with pairing Subaru with pretty much any guy in the series (especially other queen candidate knights) or leaving who he will end up with ambiguous.

I watched anime and read manga for this story, so please don’t spoil me for the parts not yet adapted from Light Novel.
Group: Katarina Claes/Gerald Stuart (My Next Life as a Villainess)
I ran into this manga on accident, but I definitely don’t regret it. I love how Katarina ends up solving all the problems in this series either through her efforts or by sheer accident and how she ends up becoming the actual protagonist. This charmingly comedic story has a lot of heart and I crave more.
I think I like Gerard the most out of all potential suitors for Katarina’s heart and would love to see more of his crush on Katarina and unsuccessful attempts at actually wooing her. We only see him through Katarina’s perspective, who can’t separate him from the Gerard she knows from the game, even though he changed under her influence. I would definitely be up for a story where Katarina starts to notice that maybe her idea of Gerard doesn’t exactly line up with the reality. Or maybe she remains blissfully ignorant and decides to go in-depth investigation into finding more of Gerard’s weaknesses, because she saw him do something nice for Maria and now she is sure the end is near for her and she wants to be extra prepared. Or maybe he takes her on a vacation trip to escape from her other suitors, but everything goes terribly wrong (maybe their carriage crashes forcing them to spend the night in the woods), and yet both of them end up having a lot of fun.
I don’t mind including any other characters, since they are a colorful bunch. I read this manga for harem shenanigans, and you are free to include as much of that as you want.
AUs and ships
I’m okay with AUs and canon divergences. The story is already a huge canon divergence after all, so if you want to twist it even more, that’s fine by me. If you want to play around with characters accidentally getting transported to the alternate world where Katarina is the original Katarina or getting a glimps of it, I would be very much for it. I love the idea of Gerard meeting the original Katarina and having all sorts of complicated feelings about her, but ultimately acting kind towards her, because he believes that this is what Katarina he knows would have wanted. And just imagine the utter chaos that would result in two Katarinas running around.
I’m okay with all canonical crushes being acknowledged, however due the nature of my request I want the endgame ship to be Katarina/Gerard. I don’t mind other characters being shipped with each other.

I’m caught up with the newest chapters of the webtoon.
Khun Aguero Agnis/Twenty-Fifth Baam | Jyu Viole Grace (Tower of God)
I got into this series through anime but then I binged the rest of this webtoon and wow it was a blast. I love the complicated world of the tower, the colorful cast, and the complicated relationships between characters. And I love Aguero for being a total asshole and schemer, who becomes a better person due to Bam’s influence.
I’m fine with the fic being set at any point in the story, whether it be beginning of their relationship right after they both started to climb the tower or anything else down the line. I love the slow change that Aguero goes through starting as the very selfish person who burned most of the bridges behind him into a slightly more caring but still willing to burn all the bridges if it’s for Bam person. Also, Bam’s arc of slowly finding himself through interacting with others is great. For some ideas, maybe they have to go undercover to achieve some goal and end up pretending to be boyfriends to throw off suspicions (bonus points for Khun making their supposed relationship’s backstory more ridiculous each time someone asks about it). Or something goes wrong while they are escaping resulting in Bam and Khun getting chained together with shinsu-resistant handcuffs, which begins their epic journey to find and defeat the person who has key to it. Meanwhile Khun is slowly losing it, because he isn’t prepared to handle someone’s constant presence 24h a day, especially if it’s Bam. Or any other towe climbing shenanigans. Maybe Khun wagers something he really shouldn’t have (like his memories) and the team has to get them back, because Khun regresses into his pre-Bam meeting self and is even more of an asshole than usual.
Please use the names Bam and Jue Viole Grace respectively in the fic, because that was the official translation when I picked up the comics (I’m assuming it was different in the past from the AO3 tag).
AUs and ships
I would prefer no setting changes for this story, Tower is a honestly fascinating place and I want to enjoy more of it, but all other AUs are okay. For some suggestions, maybe Bam doesn’t manage to escape from FUG. Khun finds him and decides that the only way to help is to make sure that Elders acknowledge Bam as a Slayer, so he starts to climb ranks of FUG.
I’m okay with mentions of Bam’s crush on Rachel, but mostly in the context of his past feelings for her. Just please focus on Bam/Aguero. For some other ships, I’m okay with Anaak/Ran and Anaak/Endorsi. As for other characters, you are free to ship them if you want, just don’t ship Hwaryun with anyone.

I want a lot of worldbuilding and description or colored/detailed art; a rich sense of place is so good for this canon. Spirits are great. Get into the metaphysics of bending, talk to me about martial arts traditions and training. Give me the practical realities of daily life in the Water Tribe, or on Kyoshi Island, or traveling in the Earth Kingdom. Keep things as gen as possible.
Possible things to explore:
Sibling feels - Katara and Sokka’s relationship is a highlight of the show for me. The two of them having each other’s back, but also teasing each other relentlessly. The things about each other they admire, would never admit they admire, or the things they can’t stand.
Water Tribe education - what kind of set up do they have? Sokka and Katara are both literate. Who’s teaching all those tiny tots from the 1st two episodes and what are they learning, aside from Sokka’s not-terribly-effective warrior training?
Pre-canon stuff - their relationship with Gran Gran - she doesn’t seem to have told them a whole lot about herself, or Sokka’s near idolization of Hakoda, or Katara’s same for Kya, tinted by grief.
Some neat detail of East Asian or Artic culture you like that didn’t appear in the show? Build a missing Season 1 or 2 episode around it.
Suki! How’d she get to be the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors at such a young age? For that matter, why are all the Warriors teenagers - we see adult ladies in the village, and Kyoshi Island has a neutral, withdrawn position on the war at the start.
The Kyoshi Warriors traveling from their island up to Half Moon Bay - they must have had some adventures on the way. Tell me about them.

The first of the really good FF’s (though I personally am super fond of II, warts and all). A neat ensemble cast, fun gameplay, terrific music, twisty-turny plot. I like that Cecil and Rosa have an established romance when the story starts - that’s rare in JRPGs. I love worldbuilding here, with magic as part of daily life, against the backdrop of Baron’s militarization. The Feymarch is fascinating. Getting dark is fine here. Embrace the Amano: gauzy fabrics, wild patterns, spiky armor, men wearing make-up, hair beads. From the Amano art and his Dissidia model, I love the notion of Cecil’s hair being very fluffy and floaty, almost gravity-defying, similar to how long hair gets underwater. Use that detail to make me a happy camper. Feel free to use details from the After Years if you want, but know that I don’t love that game’s messy plot.
Possible things to explore:
Cecil, Rosa, and Kain growing up together. No matter how many childhood fics about them I consume, I want more.
Talk to me about the Eight Corps of Baron, of Dragoons vs Dark Knights, about Cecil and Kain as the king’s adopted children, about the airship fleet, about Rosa’s relationship with her mother and white magic.
Creepiness of the Dark Knight armor, beneficial properties from the paladin armor & weaponry.
Rosa as Rydia’s mentor in magic in the early game makes me very happy. Any focus on that would be great.
Rydia’s hate/resentment of Cecil and how it changes as they are forced to spend time together, alongside Cecil’s guilt complex.
Rydia growing up in the Feymarch! You don’t get to see a ton of it in-game. What is life like there? What are the Eidolons like outside battle, and what individual relationships do they form with Rydia?
Contemplative older Rydia. She’s the last living summoner - does she intend to pass on her knowledge, or take it with her to the grave?

Specific DNW’s: Too much of a focus on Golbez. I love him! I just don’t want the fic to be about him. Rosa being passive and sappy - bleh. You can incorporate Cecil’s canon chauvinism or not, but don’t let Rosa lose any arguments over it. Don’t excuse Kain by saying ‘brainwashed’, keep his jealousy and possessiveness intact. Edge/Rydia as a focus of the fic.

My favorite game, and one of my favorite canons. This takes up a lot of headspace for me. The summons, everything about them - concept, lore, aesthetics, their actual characters. Besaid Island is one of those fictional places I’d like to live (after Sin’s defeat, of course.) The game’s dual themes of rebellion and acceptance. Pyreflies as plothole glue. Maechen expositing all over the place. I’d like any exploration of the culture, particularly of Yevon, to lean into the East Asian inspirations - steer clear of making it Christianity in yellowface. You can use parts of X-2 if you’d like, but I don’t love it quite as much as I do the original. The light novel and Will have some interesting ideas, but terrible execution. I’d prefer if you steered clear of using them.
Possible things to explore:
Past fayth - I think the summons must have been whittled down over time to the number we see in game. Final Fantasy has a rich well of summon lore to draw on, show me who/what some of them would be in Spira.
What makes someone become a fayth? What personal histories lead to that decision? What rituals of transformation do they undergo?
Past summoners - Give me the canon High Summoners or some OCs and describe their pilgrimage. Crossover AU’s are fun here too - cast characters from one of your favorite properties as a summoner and their guardians. I don’t need to be familiar with the other canon to enjoy reading those.
Besaid Island! Talk to me about the culture there, the underdog love for their perpetually losing blitzball team, their tradition of textile work, how Valefor’s presence influences the island.
Backstory: Yuna, Lulu, Wakka, Chappu, and Kimahri growing up on the island. Temple lessons, Yuna’s summoning ability growing, picnics on beaches and under waterfalls, exploring the jungle, playing blitzball, fishing, diving, how Kimahri copes with the tropical weather…. It’s all good, their found family bond is one of my fave things in the game.
Rikku and Tidus = sunshine children who say what they feel. Most of the time. Their friendship is really great. Give me Tidus helping Rikku on a salvage operation, or Rikku showing Tidus around Al Bhed technology and how it differs or is the same from the machina he was used to. Give me their fierce devotion to Yuna’s health and happiness - maybe they’re planning a surprise for her?
Sports AU! What if the initial plot of the game - superstar player is sucked through time/out of his cushy home life to lead a lousy team to victory in the Big Game - were played straight? Set in canon, or in a modern setting, it’d be fun to read.

Politics, worldbuilding, obscure deific beings with their own plans. Complicated and murky feelings between characters. Gorgeous, Middle-Eastern inspired architecture and desert vistas. Princess on a quest for vengeance. This game hits so many of my likes, it’s ridiculous. Use ideas from Revenant Wings or Fortress, or draw on other Ivalice Alliance titles for flavor.
Possible things to explore:
I love XII’s bestiary entries, select a few and expand on them.
ASHE. Anything with Ashe would be great. Give me pre-canon Ashe - how close was her relationship with Vossler and Basch before Dalmasca’s collapse? How about her visiting Nabradia and Nabudis as a teen, and how her relationship with Rasler formed, a genuine love under the arranged marriage? How did she feel about the civil war that broke out there?
Ashe and Raithwall. How she feels as his descendant, the last living official scion of a great empire. How the Occuria play on that. Involve the Great Crystal, or the Pharos, or Raithwall’s tomb, or Belias. Give me the bad end where she became the new Dynast-Queen and followed in his conquering footsteps, carving her way with stone and blade.
Ashe escaping Rabanastre as the Archadians close in. How did she meet with Vossler and form the resistance? Did he help her escape? Bonus points for including the cool brown-haired Viera ladies in armor from the opening movie - I’ve always had a headcanon that one of them was Ashe’s bodyguard. Ashe’s time in the Resistance - lean into her pampered noble upbringing here, I’d love to see her learning how to cook, sew, swordfight, cast magic, strategize.
Alternately, let’s go to the other end of the social strata. Tell me about Lowtown, and how the gangs of orphans survived there. How did Migelo come to be Vaan and Penelo’s substitute father figure/employer? Give me Vaan and Penelo as older sibling figures to the other orphans, Filo and Kytes especially (since they have names and personalities and feature in Revenant Wings). Everyday life in occupied Rabanastre would be great. Or give me post-canon Vaan and Penelo as sky pirates - do they check back in with Migelo? Bring him rare items while he fusses that he’s not their fence? Vaan and Penelo as pirate mentors to Filo and Kytes is adorable.

*slams hands on table* Wayfinder Trio! I got into KH right as Birth by Sleep was coming out; these three grabbed hold of my heart and never let go. I have as good a handle on the twisty KH canon as anybody can, I reckon, χand Dark Road included, so don’t be afraid to make some deep cuts. Melody of Memory will be out before works are due, if something neat happens there that you want to use, feel free. Alternately, go the Marie Kondo route and discard anything that does not spark joy. I don’t mind Terra/Aqua, but I’d really prefer this be platonic.
Possible things to explore:
Pre-canon, how Terra and Aqua came to be Eraqus’ apprentices. Daily life in the Land of Departure - anybody else live in the castle? On the world? How do they get their groceries, I ask? Learning magic. How Ven’s arrival did or did not change the routine. Aqua and Terra on training missions to other worlds - I’d like best something from the Disney Animated canon, but use any Disney or Square Enix property you want, except Star Wars/Marvel. Ven getting jealous of their freedom, and them cheering him up.
BbS - perhaps you want to fix some plot holes? Maybe give Aqua more convincing reasons to doubt Terra? Add a couple more worlds in to explain the weird timing of the order they arrive places relative to how much plot happens to them there? I love Zack Fair, if you wanna give me more of the trio hanging out with him in Olympus Coliseum, separately or together, that’d be swell.
Hypothetical BbS Volume 2, as seen in the secret ending “A Fragmentary Passage” from BbS Final Mix, and then truncated into the short game 0.2 BbS A Fragmentary Passage. (This series’ naming scheme, I swear…) Expand on that, give me the game plot that might have been.
Post-KH3 trauma recovery time! Aqua spent ten years in the hell dimension, under constant threat of attack, hallucinating, with all her fears and doubts externalized. Terra was shattered between how many concurrent entities, some of them serving under/as his hated enemy? Ven - though I think his stint in Sora’s heart was restful mostly - has to cope with Vanitas inside him and any returning memories of his χ days. And there’s the grief of losing their father figure Eraqus, too. Give me hurt/comfort, the ghosts of the past in Land of Departure, or them traveling around trying to escape their problems. Nightmares, trauma responses, crying, and hugs are all delightful.
AU’s: fairy tale, modern fantasy/magical realism, ice cream shop. Fusion AU’s with the trio in the settings of Avatar: The Last Airbender, any Final Fantasy, the Wicked + Divine comics, Tolkien’s Legendarium, A Song of Ice and Fire, Tamora Pierce’s Emelan series, any given manga by CLAMP.

I love these bird kids bunches. I’d like a fic that focuses on platonic relationships, not romance, though romantic relationships are okay as background. (I mildly multi-ship the main four in any combination, with possible Autor in the background pining after people and being snippy about it.) I LOVE ME SOME BALLET AND FAIRY TALE TROPES. Meta-textualness, stagecraft imagery, writing craft metaphors all highly enjoyed.
Possible things to explore:
Visiting Mytho’s fairy-tale kingdom.
Mytho’s nature as a literary creation who dwelled in the ‘real’ world and formed connections there.

Crank the imagery dial up to 11. Make reality as fluid as you like. Give me people hurting themselves and each other, sometimes unintentionally, winding themselves into tighter and tighter knots. Give me mythology. Give me cycles repeating with variation. Embrace the characters’ rough edges. Incorporate a metric ton of foreshadowing. Interrogate some gender roles. Toss some fairy-tale bones in the fire and tell me what the cracks say. What I’m saying is, get wild. I’m primarily interested in anime canon, but if there’s something neat from the movie, manga, light novels, sequel manga, or stage versions you wanna use, feel free. (Except for manga!Utena and Anthy as just gals being pals, and straight manga!Juri)
Possible things to explore:
ANTHY. Love her so much. Her desperate caring, and how she buries it under facades. Her measured, venomous fury. Her radical kindness for plants and animals. Her grief and cynicism and exhaustion, born of centuries.
The dissolution of Dios into Akio. The dual/overlapping identity of the two. The contrasts, and the complimentary parts.
Past cycles of duelists - or what came before the dueling game.
Nanami and Saionji, my favorite garbage children. As kids, at Ohtori, or post-canon. Competing over Touga’s attention, or bonding over how they moved on from him. Camping trip? Worldbuilding, worldbuilding, worldbuilding. Rich textural details are everything to me in Silm fic. Say not that they walked through a forest, tell me how the air smelled, what types of trees grew there, etc. Include poetry and songs. Give me your headcanons on cultural differences between societies. Massage details from the History of Middle Earth series, if you’ve read them, into the narrative. I consider the Silmarillion to be a mythology, follow a rich tradition by changing it as you want.
Possible things to explore:
Aredhel looking after Idril and Turgon after Elenwë’s death. Any difference in their relationships pre-Darkening vs their relationships in Middle Earth? How about Turgon and Idril seeing echoes of Aredhel in Maeglin, and how they handle that?
The construction of Gondolin, the formation of the Twelve Houses (how’d they get their heraldry? Do they have different aspects of civic management they’re tied to? What was the role of the late-formed House of the Wing?), the relationship between Noldor and Sindar there (Sindarin lords led some of the 12 Houses, but Thingol’s ban on Quenya wasn’t respected).
Subtle actions taken by the Valar (or not so subtle, Ulmo).
Tuor as prophet of Ulmo; the sea-longing he and Eärendil experience.
Idril, Tuor, and Voronwë hurt/comfort (drownings, darknenings, thralldrom, deaths of loved ones, collapsing cities - there’s a lot to work with).
Drawing on the Book of Lost Tales 2, I always liked the notion that Idril, Tuor, and Voronwë, unable to enter Valinor due to the terms of the Exile and/or Tuor’s mortality, were put into hibernation, basically, by Ulmo. Earendil waking the Sleeper in the Tower of Pearl, with Ilverin Littleheart (Voronwë’s son at that time in the canon’s writing) ringing the gong that does it, means a(n accidental?) reunion with his (their) parents.
Politics at/between the Havens of Sirion and the Isle of Balar. The Havens’ multiculturalism.
Galadriel unaccountably vanishes from the latter portions of the published Silmarillion. I’d love to see a story where she saved Elwing from Doriath and lived in the Havens as her advisor.
SPACE AU. Silmarillion plots, characters, locations transposed from high fantasy to soft sci-fi. Love it.

There’s gonna be an anime! I’m still over the moon about it. What a great, creative game this is, super fun to play, with a killer soundtrack and an airtight plot. Missing scenes and post-canon stuff are preferred here over pre-canon things. I’ve got some queer headcanons for this cast, listed in
order of how attached I am to them: Josh is gay (this is basically canon), Rhyme’s non-binary, Neku’s bi or pan, Shiki’s a trans girl. You don’t have to use them! But I like them.
Possible things to explore:
The kids hanging out and learning more about each other outside the context of the life or death game. Clothes shopping, especially if Eri and Shiki start styling everybody’s wardrobe.
Consequences: are they more sensitive to UG things now? Maybe they can see Players, Noise, Reapers. What are the ramifications of Rhyme having been a Noise, and the loss of her entry fee (implied to be her dreams for the future)? How about Beat? Any lingering effects from Reaperhood?
Beat and Rhyme during the first week - I’d like to see how they found out about the real master of A-East.
For want-of-a-nail, canon divergent AU’s, or role swap AU’s: Set it in another part of Tokyo or a different city. What if Beat was erased instead of Rhyme? What if Eri was a Player in Shiki’s place? What if my darling Nao and Sota had lived?
Speaking of, y’know how sometimes there’s a minor character and you’re blown away by how attached you get to them? That’s Sota and Nao for me. If you want to write something that fleshes them out, I’d love reading it.
And of course, everything in my General Likes applies here too, historical AU’s especially. For these kids, I’d prefer to stay in an urban setting.
Specific DNW’s: A major focus on Joshua. I love the boy! But he’s important in roughly 70 to 80% of all TWEWY fanwork. I’d like to see the other kids without him dominating every scene. Neku/Josh, even in the background. The power dynamic there puts me right off. I don’t subscribe to the notion that they all go to the same school, avoid that.

And Hiroki seemed to have a somewhat normal childhood... I imagine it was a big shock to be kidnapped and put into an experiment like that out of nowhere.
Haru/Maki - Maki busting Haru out of the compound, guns-a-blazing! He certainly has the heat for it, although it might take some time for him to figure out the best way into the compound to make sure that Haru is safe. Deciding that being with Haru is worth whatever cost, even though he's tired. Or: Maki waiting patiently for Haru to return home to him.

Sample prompt (non-exhaustive): For ending D, something that I've thought a lot about (but never gotten around to writing...!) is a fic in which Daichi and Seiji end up meeting again years later... but at a parent-teacher conference. Seiji's child (any gender) is a bit of a troublemaker, and Daichi wants to make sure that this Azumi kid is getting the proper love and care they need at home, since he notices their behavior being slightly off right away. A particular dynamic I'd really be interested in for this prompt is Daichi becoming a better person after the experiment, while Seiji becomes a worse person. Them having issues connecting again, but ultimately finding some healing and closure in meeting up once more. (And possibly getting together if Seiji is a single parent??)

Both interpretations are really interesting to explore! If they were slaves to the Otters for that long, what was it like for them? How did it change their relationship to be caught in this torturous cycle of being unable to communicate for so long? And what about Reo? He was a slave to the Otters for months before Mabu was resurrected... If you go with the latter interpretation, I'd love to see them being a battle couple together, fighting a losing battle but trying to stay strong for each other. I'd also love some drama if one of them got captured and the other had to save him! (Otter noncon/dubcon is very welcome for both of these prompts, as are scenes between ReoMabu themselves. Although I was blown away by the image of Minakami being possessed by the Hashihime at the end and how beautiful it was, I took it as a bad omen. What's it like to be cursed by the Hashihime? How long do they even have together until their love for each other is too much?
Kaoru/Tamamori - One thing that I think is interesting and kind of sad is how much Kaoru clearly loves and admires the Shopkeeper even though the Shopkeeper... wasn't that great of a parent towards him, and how the Shopkeeper cares for Kaoru in his own way but doesn't really know how to take care of him, and also how the Shopkeeper is probably so dead-set on his love for Minakami that sometimes other things fall to the wayside. It'd be great to see a fic that explores that complicated dynamic, and then how things change when Tamamori takes the Shopkeeper's mantle.

Kiriwo Amy/Suzuki Iruma
There are many good ships with Iruma, but this one just has a lot things I like. I love enemy ships with both sides being way too emotionally invested into each other so this was inevitable. I love how this relationship starts as this really wholesome friendship and school festival preparation, except Kiriwo turns out to be a bit messed up and wants to blow up everyone. But then they both accept the outcome and go on with their lives still thinking about each other. Iruma goes through a lot of trouble to keep the club operating even though Kiriwo has been pretty much expelled. And then Kiriwo is now obsessed with Iruma as his anthitesis and perfect enemy.
I’m okay with the potential story happening at any point in the canon. I would love both a story set before the festival while Kiriwo is still hiding his true colors or a story set after festival. Maybe Iruma runs into Kiriwo somewhere after he escapes prison and instead of calling an adult, he tries to stop Kiriwo from causing trouble on his own. As for pre-festival story. Maybe some upperclassmen steal important parts from the club and Iruma and Kiriwo set out to get them back.
Naberius Kalego & Suzuki Iruma
I love Kalego for being a much better take on Snape than original Snape ever was. The second the series made Kalego Iruma’s familiar I knew this was about to get good. And it was. I love how Kalego slowly warms up to Iruma, even if he is still allergic to his and Sullivan’s antics. I love that Kalego is actually a competent teacher who cares about his students, even if he would rather eat a whole lemon than admit it out loud.
For prompts, maybe Sullivan ends up having an important business and Opera isn’t available so he dumps looking after Iruma on Kalego for a few days. Or Iruma is struggling with studying since so much is new for him so Kalego ends up forced to help him catch up with the material (if you are following manga inclusion of Balam is always welcome). Or maybe Iruma gets into usual trouble ends up stranded somewhere and the only one he can call for help is his familiar.
AUs and ships
I love the worldbuilding around the demon world, so I would ask that if you decided to write an AU that it still incorporates demons. I would definitely love an AU where rather than getting summoned to demon world, Iruma accidentally summons either Kiriwo or Kalego into the human world. Maybe Iruma’s parents try to use him as an offering, but instead he ends up bound to a demon. I would love to see Kiriwo excited to unleash suffering (even if his weak powers severely limit him in that regard) onto human world just to discover that he made contract with the biggest pacifist possible. Or Kalego being torn between wanting to return home as soon as possible (he has classes to teach!) and wanting to somehow help the weird human child that just keeps getting into trouble. Any other demon-focused AU is also welcome. I’m also fine with any sort of AU divergences scenario. Maybe Iruma keeps accidentally sabbotaging Kiriwo’s terrorist plans without realizing it. Or Iruma ends up summoning Kalego more often as his familiar when he gets into trouble.
As for ships, I’d rather avoid any love triangle scenarios for this canon, so please focus on just one pairing per character (competing for Iruma’s attention is normal for this canon, I’d just rather not see outright romantic competition). It’s self-explainatory for Kiriwo request, but if you want to include some shipping elements into the Kalego request I also ship Iruma/Ameri, Iruma/Alice and Kalego/Balam.

I love how many great interactions Suberu has in Re:Zero with various people, not just Emilia. Feel free to mix my requests or include any other characters, I love all of them.
Natsuki Subaru & Puck
I adore how Subaru immediately gets along with Puck due to their shared admiration of Emilia. I would love a story where the two of them decide to work together to throw a surprise party for Emilia or to make a present for her. Or maybe they need to work together to protect Emilia against a threat. Or for something lighter, their shared adventures of pranking everyone they can in Roswaal’s manor. Feel free to include as much Emilia as you need for this relationship, since Puck is contracted with her.
Natsuki Subaru & Felix Argyle & Julius Euclius & Reinhard van Astrea
I immediately loved the queen candidates’ knights and the relationships between them. I would greatly enjoy seeing them work together. Maybe someone is plotting to harm queen candidates and they join forces to bring them down. Or maybe the queen candidates are busy with some bureaucracy and the bored knights decide to spend a night at town, which ends with all sorts of shenanigans. Maybe Subaru and Julius decide to have some sort of competiton that hilariously goes out of control. Or Reinhardt and Subaru rope everyone into helping some poor grandma, but her straightforward request ends up becoming much more difficult to execute than anyone predicted. Alternatively, Felix, Julius, and Reinhardt decide that Subaru has been pushing himself way too much recently and with silent blessing from Emilia they drag him into the local hot springs to make him finally rest a bit and make sure that give Felix plenty of time for some additional magical treatment.
Feel free to also include Aldebaran into the group if you want. He had very little screen time in anime, so I didn’t want to make this request more difficult than it already is, but if you want to write him too I would be very happy with his inclusion.
Natsuki Subaru & Beatrice
Beatrice is a fascinating character. She’s clearly very powerful, but ends up hiding herself in the library due to her strongly hinted tragic past. Watching Subaru try to make her open up more to him and other people is very interesting. I would love to see more of his attempts to befriend Beatrice. Maybe he suggests they do a book club and makes Beatrice choose books they should read. Or alternatively Subaru ends up trapped inside a magical book and Beatrice is the only one who can help navigate him so he can escape from it. Or alternatively a witch cultist invided the Roswaal mansion and Subaru and Beatrice need to work together to find and neutralize the threat.
AUs and ships
I would prefer no setting changes for this story, any other AUs are fine. I especially love Subaru’s reset mechanic, so feel free to abuse that if you want. If you want some AU ideas, maybe another character starts remembering bits and pieces of the reseted timelines. Or maybe Otto turns out to be a witch cultist in disguise and uses the trust he earned to cause problems.
I’m okay with acknowledging Subaru’s canon crush on Emilia, though I’d rather it wasn’t framed as an endgame ship. I’m okay with pairing Subaru with pretty much any guy in the series (especially other queen candidate knights) or leaving who he will end up with ambiguous.

I watched anime and read manga for this story, so please don’t spoil me for the parts not yet adapted from Light Novel.
Group: Katarina Claes/Gerald Stuart (My Next Life as a Villainess)
I ran into this manga on accident, but I definitely don’t regret it. I love how Katarina ends up solving all the problems in this series either through her efforts or by sheer accident and how she ends up becoming the actual protagonist. This charmingly comedic story has a lot of heart and I crave more.
I think I like Gerard the most out of all potential suitors for Katarina’s heart and would love to see more of his crush on Katarina and unsuccessful attempts at actually wooing her. We only see him through Katarina’s perspective, who can’t separate him from the Gerard she knows from the game, even though he changed under her influence. I would definitely be up for a story where Katarina starts to notice that maybe her idea of Gerard doesn’t exactly line up with the reality. Or maybe she remains blissfully ignorant and decides to go in-depth investigation into finding more of Gerard’s weaknesses, because she saw him do something nice for Maria and now she is sure the end is near for her and she wants to be extra prepared. Or maybe he takes her on a vacation trip to escape from her other suitors, but everything goes terribly wrong (maybe their carriage crashes forcing them to spend the night in the woods), and yet both of them end up having a lot of fun.
I don’t mind including any other characters, since they are a colorful bunch. I read this manga for harem shenanigans, and you are free to include as much of that as you want.
AUs and ships
I’m okay with AUs and canon divergences. The story is already a huge canon divergence after all, so if you want to twist it even more, that’s fine by me. If you want to play around with characters accidentally getting transported to the alternate world where Katarina is the original Katarina or getting a glimps of it, I would be very much for it. I love the idea of Gerard meeting the original Katarina and having all sorts of complicated feelings about her, but ultimately acting kind towards her, because he believes that this is what Katarina he knows would have wanted. And just imagine the utter chaos that would result in two Katarinas running around.
I’m okay with all canonical crushes being acknowledged, however due the nature of my request I want the endgame ship to be Katarina/Gerard. I don’t mind other characters being shipped with each other.

I love the complicated world of the tower, the colorful cast, and the complicated relationships between characters. And I love Aguero for being a total asshole and schemer, who becomes a better person due to Bam’s influence.
I’m fine with the fic being set at any point in the story, whether it be beginning of their relationship right after they both started to climb the tower or anything else down the line. I love the slow change that Aguero goes through starting as the very selfish person who burned most of the bridges behind him into a slightly more caring but still willing to burn all the bridges if it’s for Bam person. Also, Bam’s arc of slowly finding himself through interacting with others is great. For some ideas, maybe they have to go undercover to achieve some goal and end up pretending to be boyfriends to throw off suspicions (bonus points for Khun making their supposed relationship’s backstory more ridiculous each time someone asks about it). Or something goes wrong while they are escaping resulting in Bam and Khun getting chained together with shinsu-resistant handcuffs, which begins their epic journey to find and defeat the person who has key to it. Meanwhile Khun is slowly losing it, because he isn’t prepared to handle someone’s constant presence 24h a day, especially if it’s Bam. Or any other towe climbing shenanigans. Maybe Khun wagers something he really shouldn’t have (like his memories) and the team has to get them back, because Khun regresses into his pre-Bam meeting self and is even more of an asshole than usual.
Please use the names Bam and Jue Viole Grace respectively in the fic, because that was the official translation when I picked up the comics (I’m assuming it was different in the past from the AO3 tag).
AUs and ships
I would prefer no setting changes for this story, Tower is a honestly fascinating place and I want to enjoy more of it, but all other AUs are okay. For some suggestions, maybe Bam doesn’t manage to escape from FUG. Khun finds him and decides that the only way to help is to make sure that Elders acknowledge Bam as a Slayer, so he starts to climb ranks of FUG.
I’m okay with mentions of Bam’s crush on Rachel, but mostly in the context of his past feelings for her. Just please focus on Bam/Aguero. For some other ships, I’m okay with Anaak/Ran and Anaak/Endorsi. As for other characters, you are free to ship them if you want, just don’t ship Hwaryun with anyone.

I want a lot of worldbuilding and description or colored/detailed art; a rich sense of place is so good for this canon. Spirits are great. Get into the metaphysics of bending, talk to me about martial arts traditions and training. Give me the practical realities of daily life in the Water Tribe, or on Kyoshi Island, or traveling in the Earth Kingdom. Keep things as gen as possible.
Possible things to explore:
Sibling feels - Katara and Sokka’s relationship is a highlight of the show for me. The two of them having each other’s back, but also teasing each other relentlessly. The things about each other they admire, would never admit they admire, or the things they can’t stand.
Water Tribe education - what kind of set up do they have? Sokka and Katara are both literate. Who’s teaching all those tiny tots from the 1st two episodes and what are they learning, aside from Sokka’s not-terribly-effective warrior training?
Pre-canon stuff - their relationship with Gran Gran - she doesn’t seem to have told them a whole lot about herself, or Sokka’s near idolization of Hakoda, or Katara’s same for Kya, tinted by grief.
Some neat detail of East Asian or Artic culture you like that didn’t appear in the show? Build a missing Season 1 or 2 episode around it.
Suki! How’d she get to be the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors at such a young age? For that matter, why are all the Warriors teenagers - we see adult ladies in the village, and Kyoshi Island has a neutral, withdrawn position on the war at the start.
The Kyoshi Warriors traveling from their island up to Half Moon Bay - they must have had some adventures on the way. Tell me about them.

The first of the really good FF’s (though I personally am super fond of II, warts and all). A neat ensemble cast, fun gameplay, terrific music, twisty-turny plot. I like that Cecil and Rosa have an established romance when the story starts - that’s rare in JRPGs. I love worldbuilding here, with magic as part of daily life, against the backdrop of Baron’s militarization. The Feymarch is fascinating. Getting dark is fine here. Embrace the Amano: gauzy fabrics, wild patterns, spiky armor, men wearing make-up, hair beads. From the Amano art and his Dissidia model, I love the notion of Cecil’s hair being very fluffy and floaty, almost gravity-defying, similar to how long hair gets underwater. Use that detail to make me a happy camper. Feel free to use details from the After Years if you want, but know that I don’t love that game’s messy plot.
Possible things to explore:
Cecil, Rosa, and Kain growing up together. No matter how many childhood fics about them I consume, I want more.
Talk to me about the Eight Corps of Baron, of Dragoons vs Dark Knights, about Cecil and Kain as the king’s adopted children, about the airship fleet, about Rosa’s relationship with her mother and white magic.
Creepiness of the Dark Knight armor, beneficial properties from the paladin armor & weaponry.
Rosa as Rydia’s mentor in magic in the early game makes me very happy. Any focus on that would be great.
Rydia’s hate/resentment of Cecil and how it changes as they are forced to spend time together, alongside Cecil’s guilt complex.
Rydia growing up in the Feymarch! You don’t get to see a ton of it in-game. What is life like there? What are the Eidolons like outside battle, and what individual relationships do they form with Rydia?
Contemplative older Rydia. She’s the last living summoner - does she intend to pass on her knowledge, or take it with her to the grave?

My favorite game, and one of my favorite canons. This takes up a lot of headspace for me. The summons, everything about them - concept, lore, aesthetics, their actual characters. Besaid Island is one of those fictional places I’d like to live (after Sin’s defeat, of course.) The game’s dual themes of rebellion and acceptance. Pyreflies as plothole glue. Maechen expositing all over the place. I’d like any exploration of the culture, particularly of Yevon, to lean into the East Asian inspirations - steer clear of making it Christianity in yellowface. You can use parts of X-2 if you’d like, but I don’t love it quite as much as I do the original. The light novel and Will have some interesting ideas, but terrible execution. I’d prefer if you steered clear of using them.
Possible things to explore:
Past fayth - I think the summons must have been whittled down over time to the number we see in game. Final Fantasy has a rich well of summon lore to draw on, show me who/what some of them would be in Spira.
What makes someone become a fayth? What personal histories lead to that decision? What rituals of transformation do they undergo?
Past summoners - Give me the canon High Summoners or some OCs and describe their pilgrimage. Crossover AU’s are fun here too - cast characters from one of your favorite properties as a summoner and their guardians. I don’t need to be familiar with the other canon to enjoy reading those.
Besaid Island! Talk to me about the culture there, the underdog love for their perpetually losing blitzball team, their tradition of textile work, how Valefor’s presence influences the island.
Backstory: Yuna, Lulu, Wakka, Chappu, and Kimahri growing up on the island. Temple lessons, Yuna’s summoning ability growing, picnics on beaches and under waterfalls, exploring the jungle, playing blitzball, fishing, diving, how Kimahri copes with the tropical weather…. It’s all good, their found family bond is one of my fave things in the game.
Rikku and Tidus = sunshine children who say what they feel. Most of the time. Their friendship is really great. Give me Tidus helping Rikku on a salvage operation, or Rikku showing Tidus around Al Bhed technology and how it differs or is the same from the machina he was used to. Give me their fierce devotion to Yuna’s health and happiness - maybe they’re planning a surprise for her?
Sports AU! What if the initial plot of the game - superstar player is sucked through time/out of his cushy home life to lead a lousy team to victory in the Big Game - were played straight? Set in canon, or in a modern setting, it’d be fun to read.

Politics, worldbuilding, obscure deific beings with their own plans. Complicated and murky feelings between characters. Gorgeous, Middle-Eastern inspired architecture and desert vistas. Princess on a quest for vengeance. This game hits so many of my likes, it’s ridiculous. Use ideas from Revenant Wings or Fortress, or draw on other Ivalice Alliance titles for flavor.
Possible things to explore:
I love XII’s bestiary entries, select a few and expand on them.
ASHE. Anything with Ashe would be great. Give me pre-canon Ashe - how close was her relationship with Vossler and Basch before Dalmasca’s collapse? How about her visiting Nabradia and Nabudis as a teen, and how her relationship with Rasler formed, a genuine love under the arranged marriage? How did she feel about the civil war that broke out there?
Ashe and Raithwall. How she feels as his descendant, the last living official scion of a great empire. How the Occuria play on that. Involve the Great Crystal, or the Pharos, or Raithwall’s tomb, or Belias. Give me the bad end where she became the new Dynast-Queen and followed in his conquering footsteps, carving her way with stone and blade.
Ashe escaping Rabanastre as the Archadians close in. How did she meet with Vossler and form the resistance? Did he help her escape? Bonus points for including the cool brown-haired Viera ladies in armor from the opening movie - I’ve always had a headcanon that one of them was Ashe’s bodyguard. Ashe’s time in the Resistance - lean into her pampered noble upbringing here, I’d love to see her learning how to cook, sew, swordfight, cast magic, strategize.
Alternately, let’s go to the other end of the social strata. Tell me about Lowtown, and how the gangs of orphans survived there. How did Migelo come to be Vaan and Penelo’s substitute father figure/employer? Give me Vaan and Penelo as older sibling figures to the other orphans, Filo and Kytes especially (since they have names and personalities and feature in Revenant Wings). Everyday life in occupied Rabanastre would be great. Or give me post-canon Vaan and Penelo as sky pirates - do they check back in with Migelo? Bring him rare items while he fusses that he’s not their fence? Vaan and Penelo as pirate mentors to Filo and Kytes is adorable.

*slams hands on table* Wayfinder Trio! I got into KH right as Birth by Sleep was coming out; these three grabbed hold of my heart and never let go. I have as good a handle on the twisty KH canon as anybody can, I reckon, χand Dark Road included, so don’t be afraid to make some deep cuts. Melody of Memory will be out before works are due, if something neat happens there that you want to use, feel free. Alternately, go the Marie Kondo route and discard anything that does not spark joy. I don’t mind Terra/Aqua, but I’d really prefer this be platonic.
Possible things to explore:
Pre-canon, how Terra and Aqua came to be Eraqus’ apprentices. Daily life in the Land of Departure - anybody else live in the castle? On the world? How do they get their groceries, I ask? Learning magic. How Ven’s arrival did or did not change the routine. Aqua and Terra on training missions to other worlds - I’d like best something from the Disney Animated canon, but use any Disney or Square Enix property you want, except Star Wars/Marvel. Ven getting jealous of their freedom, and them cheering him up.
BbS - perhaps you want to fix some plot holes? Maybe give Aqua more convincing reasons to doubt Terra? Add a couple more worlds in to explain the weird timing of the order they arrive places relative to how much plot happens to them there? I love Zack Fair, if you wanna give me more of the trio hanging out with him in Olympus Coliseum, separately or together, that’d be swell.
Hypothetical BbS Volume 2, as seen in the secret ending “A Fragmentary Passage” from BbS Final Mix, and then truncated into the short game 0.2 BbS A Fragmentary Passage. (This series’ naming scheme, I swear…) Expand on that, give me the game plot that might have been.
Post-KH3 trauma recovery time! Aqua spent ten years in the hell dimension, under constant threat of attack, hallucinating, with all her fears and doubts externalized. Terra was shattered between how many concurrent entities, some of them serving under/as his hated enemy? Ven - though I think his stint in Sora’s heart was restful mostly - has to cope with Vanitas inside him and any returning memories of his χ days. And there’s the grief of losing their father figure Eraqus, too. Give me hurt/comfort, the ghosts of the past in Land of Departure, or them traveling around trying to escape their problems. Nightmares, trauma responses, crying, and hugs are all delightful.
AU’s: fairy tale, modern fantasy/magical realism, ice cream shop. Fusion AU’s with the trio in the settings of Avatar: The Last Airbender, any Final Fantasy, the Wicked + Divine comics, Tolkien’s Legendarium, A Song of Ice and Fire, Tamora Pierce’s Emelan series, any given manga by CLAMP.

I love these bird kids bunches. I’d like a fic that focuses on platonic relationships, not romance, though romantic relationships are okay as background. (I mildly multi-ship the main four in any combination, with possible Autor in the background pining after people and being snippy about it.) I LOVE ME SOME BALLET AND FAIRY TALE TROPES. Meta-textualness, stagecraft imagery, writing craft metaphors all highly enjoyed.
Possible things to explore:
Visiting Mytho’s fairy-tale kingdom.
Mytho’s nature as a literary creation who dwelled in the ‘real’ world and formed connections there.
Ahiru’s true nature is of course, only a duck - but she’s a weird kind of fairy tale duck, and she’s lived as a girl too, and transformed into? echoed? been possessed by the spirit of? Princess Tutu. I’m happy to read anything about her identity issues.
The further ramifications of Mytho and Rue having the Raven’s Blood.
Ballet AU’s (this already is a ballet anime, you say? I mean, pick a ballet plot and cast our characters in it).
Rue and Fakir apologizing to each other for all times they straight-up tried killing the other.
Pre-canon Rue and Fakir sniping at each other, competing for Mytho’s time and attention.

Crank the imagery dial up to 11. Make reality as fluid as you like. Give me people hurting themselves and each other, sometimes unintentionally, winding themselves into tighter and tighter knots. Give me mythology. Give me cycles repeating with variation. Embrace the characters’ rough edges. Incorporate a metric ton of foreshadowing. Interrogate some gender roles. Toss some fairy-tale bones in the fire and tell me what the cracks say. What I’m saying is, get wild. I’m primarily interested in anime canon, but if there’s something neat from the movie, manga, light novels, sequel manga, or stage versions you wanna use, feel free. (Except for manga!Utena and Anthy as just gals being pals, and straight manga!Juri)
Possible things to explore:
ANTHY. Love her so much. Her desperate caring, and how she buries it under facades. Her measured, venomous fury. Her radical kindness for plants and animals. Her grief and cynicism and exhaustion, born of centuries.
The dissolution of Dios into Akio. The dual/overlapping identity of the two. The contrasts, and the complimentary parts.
Past cycles of duelists - or what came before the dueling game.
Nanami and Saionji, my favorite garbage children. As kids, at Ohtori, or post-canon. Competing over Touga’s attention, or bonding over how they moved on from him. Camping trip? (You can choose to redeem Touga or not. Personally, I think he may be too deep in the Ohtori BS to really break free, but if you think different, I’m down to read it.)
Utena and Wakaba’s friendship. How’d it start? Do you think they met up again in the future? Give me fluff of Utena being a kind and attentive friend, taking Wakaba out to do something fun. Explore the feelings that festered under Wakaba’s black rose. 5 times Wakaba took care of Utena and 1 time reversed.

Worldbuilding, worldbuilding, worldbuilding. Rich textural details are everything to me in Silm fic. Say not that they walked through a forest, tell me how the air smelled, what types of trees grew there, etc. Include poetry and songs. Give me your headcanons on cultural differences between societies. Massage details from the History of Middle Earth series, if you’ve read them, into the narrative. I consider the Silmarillion to be a mythology, follow a rich tradition by changing it as you want.
Possible things to explore:
Aredhel looking after Idril and Turgon after Elenwë’s death. Any difference in their relationships pre-Darkening vs their relationships in Middle Earth? How about Turgon and Idril seeing echoes of Aredhel in Maeglin, and how they handle that?
The construction of Gondolin, the formation of the Twelve Houses (how’d they get their heraldry? Do they have different aspects of civic management they’re tied to? What was the role of the late-formed House of the Wing?), the relationship between Noldor and Sindar there (Sindarin lords led some of the 12 Houses, but Thingol’s ban on Quenya wasn’t respected).
Subtle actions taken by the Valar (or not so subtle, Ulmo).
Tuor as prophet of Ulmo; the sea-longing he and Eärendil experience.
Idril, Tuor, and Voronwë hurt/comfort (drownings, darknenings, thralldrom, deaths of loved ones, collapsing cities - there’s a lot to work with).
Drawing on the Book of Lost Tales 2, I always liked the notion that Idril, Tuor, and Voronwë, unable to enter Valinor due to the terms of the Exile and/or Tuor’s mortality, were put into hibernation, basically, by Ulmo. Earendil waking the Sleeper in the Tower of Pearl, with Ilverin Littleheart (Voronwë’s son at that time in the canon’s writing) ringing the gong that does it, means a(n accidental?) reunion with his (their) parents.
Politics at/between the Havens of Sirion and the Isle of Balar. The Havens’ multiculturalism.
Galadriel unaccountably vanishes from the latter portions of the published Silmarillion. I’d love to see a story where she saved Elwing from Doriath and lived in the Havens as her advisor.
SPACE AU. Silmarillion plots, characters, locations transposed from high fantasy to soft sci-fi. Love it.

There’s gonna be an anime! I’m still over the moon about it. What a great, creative game this is, super fun to play, with a killer soundtrack and an airtight plot. Missing scenes and post-canon stuff are preferred here over pre-canon things. I’ve got some queer headcanons for this cast, listed in
order of how attached I am to them: Josh is gay (this is basically canon), Rhyme’s non-binary, Neku’s bi or pan, Shiki’s a trans girl. You don’t have to use them! But I like them.
Possible things to explore:
The kids hanging out and learning more about each other outside the context of the life or death game. Clothes shopping, especially if Eri and Shiki start styling everybody’s wardrobe.
Consequences: are they more sensitive to UG things now? Maybe they can see Players, Noise, Reapers. What are the ramifications of Rhyme having been a Noise, and the loss of her entry fee (implied to be her dreams for the future)? How about Beat? Any lingering effects from Reaperhood?
Beat and Rhyme during the first week - I’d like to see how they found out about the real master of A-East.
For want-of-a-nail, canon divergent AU’s, or role swap AU’s: Set it in another part of Tokyo or a different city. What if Beat was erased instead of Rhyme? What if Eri was a Player in Shiki’s place? What if my darling Nao and Sota had lived?
Speaking of, y’know how sometimes there’s a minor character and you’re blown away by how attached you get to them? That’s Sota and Nao for me. If you want to write something that fleshes them out, I’d love reading it.
And of course, everything in my General Likes applies here too, historical AU’s especially. For these kids, I’d prefer to stay in an urban setting.
Specific DNW’s: A major focus on Joshua. I love the boy! But he’s important in roughly 70 to 80% of all TWEWY fanwork. I’d like to see the other kids without him dominating every scene. Neku/Josh, even in the background. The power dynamic there puts me right off. I don’t subscribe to the notion that they all go to the same school, avoid that.
