Clair Obscure: Expedition 33

From: (Anonymous)
Media: Video Game
Aprox length: 30-60 hours
Where to find it: Steam for PC, PSN for PlayStation 5, Xbox's store

What is it, in summary: a game about grief and continuing after everything is destroyed. “When one falls, we continue” and “For those who come after” are two direct quotes of the game that explain it well. It's also about families found in post-apocalyptical scenarios and dying young.

What do you love about it: sooooo much, but especially the characterization of Maelle and Verso and their relationships and the relationship of the Main Family Behind Things. I love the found family we meet in the game and the family that we meet at the end and I love how terribly tragic everything is. I love the grief of it all and how love is a lot but cannot fix everything, and sometimes it's even the issue.

What sort of things are you likely to request: Maelle or Verso-centric stories, or Maelle & Verso stories. I'd love either an exploration of post-canon, canon divergent stories (that maybe fix things!), or entire AUs where people have the chance to be happy.

Are there sections of canon that you can consume by themselves to fulfill the requests: I don't know. If you don't mind spoilers, I suppose you can watch edits of the Dessendre Family, or of Maelle and Verso, though it might not be too helpful. You can also watch Let's Play videos instead of playing the game, since I'm aware it's a long game and not everyone is into playing turn based games either.

Content notes: a lot of major character deaths, grief, suicide attempt, suicidal thoughts, trauma, fire

In Stars And Time

Date: 2025-09-04 12:51 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Media: video game
Aprox length: 20+ hours
Where to find it: Steam or GOG for PC, Nintendo eShop for Switch, PSN for PlayStation

What is it, in summary: a time loop game of found family and the trauma of dying again and again and again, and wishing for things to be better without knowing how to communicate

What do you love about it: I love the found family of it all, and how the trauma becomes so explicit as the loops go on and how we can see Siffrin getting more and more affected by it all and how terrifying it is. It's a time loop where the character knows he is in a time loop and they are affected by it visibly

What sort of things are you likely to request: Siffrin-centric stories, or a story about the family (Siffrin & Isabeau & Mirabelle & Odile & Bonnie) all together, or Siffrin & Loop. I'd love something about the trauma of it all, and I'd love something about trying to heal after everything

Are there parts of canon you can consume without going through everything: I don't know, it might be hard. You can definitely watch Let's Play videos instead of playing yourself but I don't think there are ways to take in only little bits of it for the request

Content notes: A LOT. This is a time loop story about dying, so there are A LOT of ways of dying, including suicide and self-harm and murder. There is child murder in one scene. There is mental break, especially in the last arc. There is bad joking to cope with trauma. There is trauma.

Fandom name: Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story

Media type: Manwha

Length: 100 chapters (main story)

Where can it be found? https://www.webtoons.com/en/romance/not-your-typical-reincarnation-story/list?title_no=5556

What is it/what is it about? (from the webtoon summary) When Suna Choi reincarnates as Edith Rigelhof, the villain from her favorite novel, she is determined to change Edith’s life around and treats everyone with kindness. Although she marries the handsome Killian Rudwick, he is madly in love with the original protagonist of the book and mistrusts Edith because she is from a rival family. Will her marriage survive the whirlwind of family feuds, love triangles, and more? Will Edith find her happy ending?

What do you love about it? For the main character, I love watching Edith Rigelhof's spirit be crushed <3 She comes into the story thinking she can change things. It's simple! She's a different person so obviously that will impact how other's react to her. Unfortunately, it is not that easy. The moment she gives up is so fun, for us - the readers. I also love the flipside of seeing her regain hope too and still try despite the odds against her.

SPOILERS:the reveal that it is ORIGINAL RHYSE that caused the transmigration and has been. just to save edith has me at a chokehold. rhyse loves her so much and doesn't regret the suffering she caused!! i love how they are mirrors. original edith doesn't believe she can love and i want her to get to that point where she can. and the fact that she decides to STAY for rhyse when freedom is within her reach got me. it got me good. and how she was willing to take the fall for her. willingly. they CARE so much about each other.

Where should people start? Webtoon only! the lesbian chapters. to me. 87, (crumbs, said with delusion: 88, 89, 98), 99, 100. For the main ship, you should start from the beginning. The webtoon wildly diverges from the original work which is pretty meta.

Do you have any content warnings? Domestic violence

The One Within the Villainess

Fandom name: The One Within the Villainess

Media type: Manga

Length: 27 chapters (main story)

Where can it be found? (Only legal links for this, please.) N/A

What is it/what is it about? emi reincarnates into the villainess of her favorite otome game! perfect! now she can make sure her favorite character gets the ending she deserves. as she works tirelessly to improve remelia's life, remelia—the actual villainess—watches her, and is moved by the depth of emi's care.

when the world turns on emi-as-remelia, remelia steps back into the life emi took over to take revenge, not for herself, but for emi, and the remelia emi created.

What do you love about it? [slaps towtv] this can fit so much Yuri in it (if you ignore the ending lmao) and also a fun 3p as well. emi and remelia are so devoted to each other, emi haunts the narrative as remelia tries to avenge her the most maliciously kind way possible, all not to stain the reputation emi worked hard to create. they are obsessed with each other your honor.

Where should people start? The beginning of the manga! There are some divergences from the novel.

Do you have any content warnings? Dubious consent, capitalism in a positive light, slutshaming, weird politics, fantastical racism

Title: Noctilucent: Before Dawn

Media: Explicit BL/yaoi mobile game (it's a free-to-play live service game that's just celebrated its 1 year anniversary)

Length: 12 main story chapters, ongoing

Where to find it: Download from EROLABS (site extremely not safe for work). Alternatively, check out the fan wiki, which provides a lot of information and links to official sources.

What is it, in summary?
One day, a rural resident named Anli from a remote village, embarks on a journey to uncover his ancestry after stumbling upon an old photograph following the death of his beloved grandmother. At the very start of his journey, he encounters a knight with white floral patterns on his body, and thus the gears of fate begin to turn. As he searches for the hidden truths buried in the remnants of history, he befriends a variety of companions on his journey. After overcoming countless obstacles, what choice will Anli and his companions make when they're finally faced with the truth? - From the official site.

What do you love about it?:
Anli is a great protagonist; I love his individual relationships with each party member and how he can top or bottom based on who he's with. He is peak soft-but-strong and a great character for the story to hang on.

Everyone in the party has their own motivations and reasons for going along on Anli's journey, and they have relationships with each other as well. The porn is frequent and rewarding, and the story is angsty and engaging, with lots of strong bonds between characters.

Also, there's someone for everyone! Want a sunshine knight with a sweet tooth? Cypar. Want intense codependence against the backdrop of being the only two surivors of a plague? Sen/Hyasha. Want a ruthless businessman with self-control for days? Xiel.

What sort of things are you likely to request for it?
My favourite characters are Owyn, Delos and Yve, so I'm interested in works fleshing out relationships between them, with or without Anli. I am also deeply invested in Anli, Anryle, and Hochi in general (I will take every beastman any media wants to give me). Please give Anli all the loving, worshipful sexual attention he deserves.

Content notes: Dubious consent, mind control, child experimentation, evil church, evil nobility.

As an aside, it's a reasonably generous free-to-play game but has many, many constant monetisation options; if that's a risk factor for you, please be aware.

(If you decide to play because of this promo post, please consider using my invite code, with my thanks: SU3WHY07)

Superstition by Superstition_hockey

rovermaelstrom: Yellow sun in glory on a black background (Default)
From: [personal profile] rovermaelstrom
Title: Superstition

Media: Original work that toes the line with Hockey RPF (all RPF characters are background/minor, focus is on OCs)

Approx length: The main canon storyline is 185,855 words (Superstition, Deke, Split the D, Breakaway, Other People, & Until the Whistle), but there is probably a roughly equal amount of side stories, missing scenes, and next-gen stories

Where to find it: https://archiveofourown.org/series/413233

What is it, in summary?: It's a sports romance set in the ambiguous near future (AU future now, as it was written in 2015) that follows the main characters from when they meet at 7 years old all the way through their adulthood. The POV character for all of the main parts of the storyline except for Other People is an aromantic bisexual polyamorous guy who asked the hockey gods to send him a best friend to play hockey with and the other MC is the kid who moved to town shortly after, and they've been inseparable since. They get accidentally married at 18 due to fake IDs and a trip to Vegas, remain husbands and best friends despite being long-distance due to playing for different NHL teams, and build a beautiful queerplatonic/polyamorous extended family over the years.

What do you love about it?: I've never seen a character who does emotions and love and relationships the way I do as anything other than the ex that hurt the MC before, and here Luc is being aromantic all over the place and having a loving network of relationships and being loved in turn and it is such an incredibly good feeling to be able to read a romance that actually aligns with how I do love in my own life. Really fantastic and realistic representation of polyamory, excellent portrayal of how different emotional styles can work together with communication, just really beautiful characterization, and this line that Luc says when asked about a video of him getting taught to lap dance by a couple of strippers: "anyway, dancers make their living through athleticism and performance and so do I. The only difference is that I make a lot more money and they don’t have to apologize if they go watch a hockey game."

What sort of things are you likely to request for it?:

  • Literally anything between Luc and Jacks, though I did specifically mention the canonical fanfics mentioned in the side-fic about what the in-universe Hockey RPF fandom is writing - I'd love to see some fic-ception there!

  • Expansions on Luc and Grant's relationship, with or without onscreen Jacks

  • Disko and Temi during All-Star Break - young bi closeted Russian new NHLer + somewhat older out, proud, well known, well awarded professional surfer? Yes please!

  • Second-chance romance between Jacks and his high school boyfriend Honoré, absolutely 100% yes.

Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfil your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?: It would be pretty hard to do a Luc-centric prompt without reading the main canon, but if you do the Disko/Temi prompt you can probably just read through the short section in Chapter 2 of Deke that starts with the sentence "He and Jacks talk about meeting up somewhere sunny that has dolphins during the All-Star break, but in the end there’s just not enough time for one of them to go cross-country, and they really ought to be spending the time with their own team instead." Assuming you know Temi is a Russian who's a rookie in the NHL, Russia is assumed to still be Russia in terms of current levels of conservatism, nobody in the NHL is publicly out yet, and Disko is a very free-loving professional competitive surfer, you've got all you need for that setup.

Content warnings (ie, rape, incest, racism, gore/violence): Some depiction of orthorexia, not a huge storyline but not a one-off mention either

I watched my husband play through this game and it is gorgeous and full of fodder for excellent fics! Highly recommend it even if you don't get through it for this exchange - the worldbuilding is FASCINATING and I very much recommend that if you're going to play through it don't spoil yourself because the twists and hidden implications are very impactful on this game!

The Elementalists

Date: 2025-09-05 02:05 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Media: Mobile Game

Approx length: Two titles within the game about 8-9 hours in length each

Where to find it: Full game: Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pixelberrystudios.choices&hl=en_GB), App Store (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/choices-stories-you-play/id1071310449), There maybe full playthroughs available if you search youtube

What is it, in summary?: It is a fantasy romance set in a Hogwarts like post secondary-school setting where the Main Character who is suddenly dropped into the magical world must work to find her place while outside forces scheme to use them in their plans

What do you love about it?: I'm honestly a huge fan of post-secondary academic and magical academy settings and this is the best of both these worlds. I also really love the magic system as well as how the characters develop over the series

What sort of things are you likely to request for it?: I love fics that center around the relationship between Shreya and the Main Character. I enjoy dark fics and AUs especially setting AUs since those have the most impact on the character interactions.

Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfil your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?: You only really need to read the first book to get a handle on the characters. There is also a side story called The Elementalists Winter's Past that is much shorter that can be read which will give you a solid understanding of the characters and relationships

Content notes (ie, rape, incest, racism, gore/violence): optional sexual content, mild Pg-13 violence and strong language.

Title: If It Please the Court - D.E Chaudron

Media: Interactive Novel

Approx length: 6 1/2 hours

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1385260/If_It_Please_the_Court/

Heart's Choice: https://www.choiceofgames.com/hearts-choice/if-it-please-the-court/

What is it, in summary?: it is a interactive lesbian romance where you play a young woman recruited from the slums of Paris and selected to become a member of the Secret du Roi an intelligence organization that works for the court of France.

What do you love about it?: Renaissance era Europe is one of my favourite settings for sotries especially queer stories because it was just such a wild time. Combine that with the intrigue and theatrics of french politics and you have me hooked.

What sort of things are you likely to request for it?: Definitely femslash between the PC and the Character Charlotte Faire-Filer. While all the relationships are done well in the game I think their dynamic is the best and most interesting to be explored whether that be through and AU of post-canon I'm here for it

Content warnings (for example: rape, incest, racism, gore/violence): Classism and mild Sexism

Title: after the zero hour by adastreia
Media: Fannish Original Work
Approx. Length: 13,000 words

Where to find it: https://archiveofourown.org/works/66982138

What is it, in summary? This is an OW fic written for another exchange. It's a non-linear, alternating POV sci-fi story about a down-on-his-luck archaeologist on a lonely outpost planet and the cyborg soldier compelled by a punitive justice system to act as his personal bodyguard. It follows them as their relationship deepens and professional and ethical boundaries are crossed.

What do you love about it? This fic takes place in a wonderfully fleshed-out and lived-in world with characters that feel whole and organic. Its main themes are around identity and consent in a context where those things borderline impossible to ascertain the authenticity of, which is so deeply delicious to me. It's also about hierarchy and power and has some very tasty background/implied past noncon that complicates the primary relationship, which only adds to the flavor. I love the development of the relationship and how it's enhanced by the selective revelation of how that happens through the non-linear structure. I love the personalities and quirks of the two mains. I LOVE that it's told in alternating second person POV.

What sort of things are you likely to request for it? I'm extremely interested in both pre-canon and post-canon for this story and will be requesting both the main ship and a character solo. I have a particular love for the many implied abuses that the soldier has suffered prior to working for the archaeologist and will probably prompt that alongside "where do they go next?"

Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves? Not really, but it's a pretty short read!

Content notes: There are major consent issues and mentions of past noncon. There's also dehumanization and related abuses of power. Other warnings can be found in the tags and notes of the fic.

Title: A Room with a View (The 1985 Merchant-Ivory adaptation)

Media: Film

Approx length: An hour and fifty-six minutes.

Where to find it: Tubi currently has it, as well as The Roku Channel, both free with ads. If you have an HBO Max subscription you can experience it ad-free as well. You can also buy it digitally or on DVD from most major retailers.

What is it, in summary?: A historical coming of age love story set in 1908 in which second gen member of the rich upper classes Lucy Honeychurch - accompanied by her spinster cousin Charlotte - finds unexpected love with the working class, bohemian, intellectual, atheist railway worker George Emerson. Florence and fate keep working in their favor until George impulsively kisses Lucy in a field of poppies. Charlotte separates them and Lucy completes her holiday without seeing George again, ending up back on Surrey Street in England, where she accepts the proposal of cold fish Cecil Vyse. Cecil might be a member of her class, but he can't hold a candle to George - and Lucy's world is turned upside-down when Cecil's machinations bring George and his father to Surrey, returning the man she thought she'd never see back into her life. Wil she give in to passion and love or do what is expected of her?

What do you love about it?: LONGING. Longing and the art of growing up and figuring out who one is. Lucy and George even end the movie as what Buffy Summers would call "unbaked rolls," but they have grown up and grown toward each other. I love exploring this. I love Cecil's facetiousness hiding unexpected depths. I love Freddy's silliness and Mr. Emerson's orations. It's beautifully done and there's plenty of wiggle room opportunity to write with.

What sort of things are you likely to request for it?: I have an endless list of George/Lucy, Freddy/George, Freddy/Cecil and Eleanor Lavish/Charlotte ideas that I will be asking for.

Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfil your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?: Plenty of fan videos would do the trick, but I recommend watching it all.

From: [personal profile] rubylily
I'm requesting f/f for Izetta: The Last Witch (anime), Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler II, and Nights of Azure (all video games).

Izetta: The Last Witch is the shortest at twelve episodes, taking place in alternate-history Europe. Finé is the princess of Eylstadt, and as her country is dragged into war, she meets again her childhood friend Izetta, a young witch, and Izetta devotes herself to using her magic to defend Finé's country.

Octopath Traveler is a turn-based RPG focusing on eight separate stories. You choose your protagonist at the start and recruit the other seven travelers to play through their stories. For the femslash ship I'm requesting, Primrose's story is about revenge, while Ophilia is a cleric who sets out on a pilgrimage in place of her sister.

Octopath Traveler II is a stand-alone sequel, with a similar plot structure and gameplay as the first game. The f/f ship I'm requesting here is Agnea/Throné - Agnea is a dancer who wants to be a star, while thief Throné seeks to be free of the thieves' guild that binds her.

Both Octopath games are fairly long, though, and an average completionist playthrough is about 80 to 100 hours.

Nights of Azure is an action RPG - half-demon knight Arnice fights monsters on orders from the mysterious Curia, and one day, she's ordered to protect Lilysse, a Saint who is expected to sacrifice herself to seal away the Nightlord. Arnice and Lilysse were once friends, and now reunited, their feelings grow deeper, and while Lilysse is willing to sacrifice herself to save the world in which Arnice lives, Arnice wants to find a different way. The average playtime is about 20-30 hours. There is a sequel, but it focuses on a different cast of characters.

I'm always pushing for Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story (https://fffx.dreamwidth.org/63391.html?thread=1028511#cmt1028511)! Their whole existence is a spoiler. And their chapters do need some context to make sense. So I will summarize under a read more.

SPOILERS
Original Rhyse Sinclair is The Heroine TM. She has a stereotypical tragic background of being an illegitimate child of a count who is abused. Her life turns around when she is adopted by a kindly duke couple who have 2 sons. Both sons fall in love with her but the younger one is arranged to marry Edith Rigelhof who is from a rival family. When she was still in her tragic backstory, Rhyse long wanted to meet her, the flower of high society because her brother told her – an abused illegitimate child that no one loves. She wanted to be as confident as her! Thinking about her gave her strength! This was all before they even met. She thought she could understand – that they can heal each other and become friends! However, her overtures of friendship are rejected and the duke’s sons cause further friction between them. In the end, Rhyse marries the eldest son and Edith is condemned as the jealous and ruinous villainess. Happily ever after!

Wrong.

Rhyse rejects the happy ending because she wants Edith to be happy. But as a character in the story, she is unable to change the plot. Only someone outside of it can. So she lets the author of the story transmigrate into her. And things get worse for Edith. Rhyse begs to take her place but she can’t. Afterall, only someone outside of it can. Thus, she summons soul after soul to take Edith’s place to try to change the story. Each soul ends in failure. Edith watches with her in the System as Rhyse tries again and again. Rhyse even tries to lead her out to reincarnate into another life but they can’t until the story changes. She promises her that Edith will escape one day and learn love.
Things change with the thirteenth soul. Her story is the one that gets followed in the main plot. An Edith finally gets a happy ending.

The original Edith meets with the 13th Edith and takes the fall for original Rhyse. She rejects revenge on the author for Rhyse. Instead of moving on to the next life, original Edith decides to stay and watch over Rhyse who took the author’s place.

Despite all the suffering she caused, Rhyse doesn’t regret her actions! She freed Edith! Edith, who never asked for it or expected it.

TLDR; The heroine rejects her happy ending and traps everyone in a time loop, all in order to give the villainess happiness. She feels guilt but doesn’t regret the suffering she caused! As the comment section says. DOOMED YURI :BANGBANG:

I love them so much.

Media: Fiction podcast

Approx length: 60 episodes. The episodes start short and get longer as the story progresses.

Where to find it: Spotify, Apple podcasts, or their website, which has both the full episodes and the transcripts.

What is it: A sci-fi comedy show that still takes itself seriously. A crew of three people and one all-knowing AI rotate around the star Wolf 359 to do studies. However, they begin to hear broadcasts of old music from an unknown source. Things Get Worse From Here.

What do you love about it: I love the progression of this story. Every detail builds into the next which builds into the next. I love that they're not afraid to really grievously threaten the lives of their characters and still have them be funny and human through the process of survival. I also love linguistic-based sci-fi specifically and how communication is a science in itself and how do we operate when we cannot communicate or have vastly different ways of communicating. Also, there's no canon romance in this story. There may be implication, but romance is not a key part to any aspect of this story.

What sort of things are you likely to request for it: I specifically requested f/f of two characters, Minkowski and Lovelace, for one. If you like workhorse lesbians who are competent and know they know what they're doing, characters who are a little brutal, but also still have some humor? You'll love them. I also requested some m/m of Kepler and Jacobi who have the most toxic "I need you I wouldn't be where I am without you and I need to kill you" relationship to each other. I love also interpreting Jacobi as transmasc and Kepler as You Need To Unpack Your Gender More.

Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfill your requests? Some of the mini-episodes may help, especially 3 (Variations on a Theme) through 13 (Kansas). Many of these focus on singular characters' backstories prior to the Hephaestus mission and introduce to you a group that comes in starting around Season Three. Other than that, in general I tended to request things late into the canon.

Content notes: Major character death, gun violence, illness, panic attacks, references to alcoholism.

Media Type/Length: Chinese novel, 74 chapters + side stories

Where To Get It: The original novel is available here in Chinese! There are also fan translations available, as it is not licensed to my knowledge.

Canon In A Sentence: Transmigrator into the villain of a xianxia porn novel decides to a) fake it and b) save his loyal second-in-command from a tragic fate, which results in c) saving the loyal second-in-command but also d) turning the original stoically suffering woobie bottom hero into a wildly possessive top (they are both fine with this, eventually).

What I Like About It: I enjoy a silly trope subversion story, even if it's not doing anything particularly new, and a romance of stubborn idiots refusing to realize they've actually fallen for each other/reciprocate each other's feeligns. ... and even more, I love a guy who looks at his new loyal-unto-death, narratively doomed subordinate and goes "Nah, he's gonna live." Thank you for appreciating Wu Yimei, Fang Li, he is indeed a treasure!! It's just a fun dramatic read with charming characters and lots of interesting potential to explore in terms of AUs, less-explored areas of canon, and intriguing characters.

Content Notes: Violence, identity shenanigans, some implied underage/age difference with original Yan Sui and his shixiong.

What is it, in summary?: When retired tennis player Tony Wendice discovers his young meal ticket wife Margot had an affair with American mystery writer Mark Halliday, he plots with an old classmate to have Margot killed. Things go wrong when Margot not only survives the attempt but kills her would be assassin; Tony then tries to frame it as Margot killed her attacker in cold blood over blackmail, and she's convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death. Things look grim but Inspector Hubbard, the top cop on the case, has a few tricks up his sleeve that prove Margot's innocence and Tony's guilt.

What do you love about it? I think it's such an interesting movie that reminds me of modern true crime culture and I also love Grace Kelly and watching her play someone going THROUGH IT is a treat.

What sort of things are you likely to request for it? Exploration of Margot's trauma and her relationship with Mark post movie as well as good things like them getting engaged/married/having a baby etc. Missing scenes. "What if?" AUs.

Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfil your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships? N/A, watching the full movie.

Content notes (ie, rape, incest, racism, gore/violence) - Attempted murder, misogyny. I also have a prompt involving sexual assault but it isn't the only one/can easily be ignored.

Media: Book, also available as an audiobook.

Approx length: 588 pages, ~27 hours if listened to.

Where to find it: Your local bookstore or library! Also available on Libby, and Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Our-Share-Night-Mariana-Enriquez/dp/0451495152).

What is it, in summary?: A horror fiction story about grief, inheriting trauma, and what we do for and to each other. Told through alternating points of view across different time periods, it follows a family of three; a father trying to understand the mysterious circumstances around his wife's death, and his efforts to keep their son safe from her family -- a dark cult in search of immortality -- and the consequences of those efforts.

What do you love about it?: So much. I think the way Mariana Enriquez shapes her fiction to feel just slightly askew from the real world is really incredible, where everything that happens, regardless of how horrific or fantastical, feels believable. I love the themes of fate and trauma, of queerness, otherness, and dark, terrifying ritual magic. I love the relationship dynamics and how challenging Enriquez makes these characters (particularly Juan) for the reader.

What sort of things are you likely to request for it?: Character studies - primarily about the three main family members, Juan, Gaspar, and Rosario - and worldbuilding, with a few select sexual/romantic pairings that I'd love to see more of than what we're given in the novel. No AUs or anything like that, much more interested in extensions and expansions on the existing canon.

Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfill your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?: Personally I think it's best to read this book in its entirety, as the different POVs may drastically change how you view each character and the way the story shapes around them. You definitely don't get the full picture from any of the individual perspectives alone.

Content notes: This is a horror novel, so proceed with caution/that in mind! Body horror, colonialism, mentions of rape, gore/violence, and specifically violence against children.
