Matching update - nearly there, volunteer request

Hello!

I hope to get assignments out in the next 7 hours, AO3 willing.

AO3 may have to be extra-willing, because in order to make it easier to swap assignments in September and to split pinch hits between 5k/5page works for one person, as needed, I'm doing something fiddly.

I need to artificially create double-assignments. In order to do this, I would appreciate a couple of volunteers who are already signed up to help me out.

If you volunteer, all that will happen is that when assignments go out, you will temporarily get a lot of assignments. Then I will default you on all but one, which will be your official one. (No, you don't get to choose which to keep - that's already been chosen by matching.) You can see why I don't want to spring this on anyone who hasn't volunteered for it - Heart Attack isn't until November.

If you're familiar with We Die Like Fen, this is not the same method as We Die Like Fen used, and you will not see details from anyone else's offers.

If you're putting names in both the PH and Assignment slots, that's exactly what I did in WDLF. I would not recommend doing this.

If you came up with a different method, awesome, have fun, hope it works great!

I am definitely not doing that, I promise. More like:

A is writing for B
C is writing for D

Change A's proposed match so that A is writing for D. Save.

Now D has two writers and B has no writer.

In B's empty writing slot, set A as the writer.

Now I have:

A is writing for D
A is writing for B
C is writing for D.

Etc...

However, if after that point, I try to turn the first or third one into a pinch hit, ie:

A is writing for D
A is writing for B
modzilla, not signed up, is writing for D,

it keeps just erasing the third assignment / D's second assignment, so I can't make it work that way.

Good luck on this--it's a lot of work, and honestly not certain AO3 will let you? But I hope it does!

(It was tedious, and my exchange's Open Assignment pages are now full of several hundred assignments assigned to my mod account, and I'm not sure the end justifies the effort. However, it's nice to know that it's possible to do.)
