Hello all! Welcome back, previous participants - I hope you've had a good break during the brief part of the year fffx isn't running. And welcome to newcomers, of course!

Thanks to those who gave feedback previously. I've made the following tweaks:

-There is a change to the nominations format this time!!! We will use the Relationships field rather than the Character field by default. This means that you will NOT put "Group: " in front of all gen and shippy relationships. They will not have a prefix at all. Instead, please use the prefix "Char: " when nominating characters on their own. And "Oth: " insted of "Other: " for worldbuilding. Given that the majority of nominations are for relationships, I'm hoping this will save both you and me typing and correcting time.

-You can nominate in 8 fandoms this year to start with, instead of 7. However, I just want to warn you that I expect to be slow at approving in the first part of the nominations period. Thanks in advance for your patience.

-You can now swap your assignment with an extant pinch hit all the way until the deadline on January 21. Let's see if that works.

-I have adjusted the defaulting rules so that default-based bans last for one year only. You can still get rid of the ban early by posting make-up works. I am applying this retroactively, so if you simply defaulted in round 1, you are welcome to sign up to this round. You still need to comment on any past gifts, if you haven't yet - that requirement doesn't lapse with time. Similarly, if your ban involved a placeholder or other serious behavior I spoke to you about that wasn't simply defaulting, the ban does not lapse with time. I'm happy to discuss your particular circumstances - please reach out privately.

-Schedule: Since I'm a little late starting, the sign-up period is a bit shorter than it was last year. If I hear from several people that extending would make a big difference to them, I'll make the period longer. The check-in week will not shift, nor will the deadline, if I do that.

-I have clarified (I hope) that if a full-length comic is organized around a 10-page layout rather than panel number, it still needs to be 36+ panels. Similarly, if it's organized around a 5-page layout, it still need to have at least 18 panels. Comics that are 40+ or 20+ panels can be grouped into fewer than 10 or 5 pages (respectively).

I hope all that makes sense! Please feel free to remark on any of the above, or ask questions, or use this post to brainstorm what you're thinking of nominating!

This exchange is part of the [community profile] triplecrownofexchanges challenge, and over in Triple Crown, surveys have just gone out for Round 2 prize creators and winners - please fill those out by July 31 if that applies to you. And keep an eye out for Round 3 thoughts!
