Promo time!
The canon promo post is up! Please take this opportunity to tell people about your fave canons and how to get into them. There is no such thing as too obscure for a promo post. Or too popular. Maybe everyone's heard of your thing, but they've never realised that it's perfect for them.

People also use that post to ask for recs! Some of the rec-quests will be very specific, and others will be for things like "any canon in which you're willing to receive INSERT UNUSUAL FORMAT HERE."


Additional fandom - "The Legend of Zelda & Related Fandoms"
I've received a a nomination for this fandom label, with Link and Zelda under it. Nominator, are you interested in anything narrower, or could you let me know what you're thinking of here? This seems to cover a lot of different games & other media and I'm not sure I've ever seen the umbrella label in a tag set before.

If it's not too late to correct it, it should be:

Please don't take this as a bad-faith question, I'm genuinely curious: If you have a 10 page comic, but each page has less than four panels, does that still qualify as a full gift? A letter I was looking at said they liked art themes that generally come in threes--I can (most likely) fulfill 40 panels, but if I can fulfill it with 10 pages of artwork that are a complete comic (but have less than 40 panels), I don't want to strain myself reaching for something I don't have to.

Sure. This is a little tricky for me because I'm not an artist at all, let alone a digital artist. The quantitative measurements need to be something I feel I can arbitrate fairly, and I have an undeveloped sense of I-know-it-when-I-see-it for art.

The rules say 10 pages or 40 panels. So I think fulfilling either of those in good faith is sufficient. If someone were not confident about pages as a measurement & whether the level of detail on those pages was up to scruff then I would encourage them to aim for at least 35 panels on their ten pages.

Does that make sense?

Some of last round's feedback & discussion might be interesting as we talked about art a lot.

Hey, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. “The Legend of Zelda & Related Fandoms” is a legit tag on Ao3, it functions similar to the “Compilation of Final Fantasy VII” tag. It’s easier to go for this over-reaching tag than listing out all the games separately. Especially for those who are cool with receiving/writing for all games, etc.

Zelda & Link are the only constants across all games.

Sorry if it’s a problem and I can change it if necessary.

Thanks for checking in! Yeah, I realize it's a canonical tag on AO3 but was taken aback by the broadness. For comparison, last year we had several people requesting Zelda fandoms, but requests were spread across Breath of the Wild, Skyward Sword, and Twilight Princess, as follows:

then I'll approve it this year (no promises for next year). If you want something else to offer, I'm really dubious that the umbrella label will get other requests from people who also have no preferences between different Zelda media.

Yeah, I’m the one who nominated all of those last year. Was busy this year and missed the main nomination time frame.

For writing, I’m good for all games/media, just not all characters. One reason why I only nominated Link and Zelda. As for my prompts, they're mostly au so canon doesn't matter.

I'm not sure what you mean about prompts being AU so canon doesn't matter, but no one else seems to have a stake in Zelda: United or Divided this year, so I will approve it that way this year. I will probably require it to be split out next year.
