Hi, I'm the nominator of the Redwall OCs and I really just want people to have the opportunity to write original adventures in the world of Redwall (rather than worldbuilding). I could break it out to Original Abbeydweller Characters, Original Shrew Characters, Original Otter Characters and so on and so forth? But that'd be fairly arbitrary. Can you advise?

I didn’t see it listed here, but is there any reason why all but one of my Dishonored noms was approved? If it’s just lost in the backlog, no worries, but I wanted to make sure there wasn’t a problem with that specific one since the others were approved.

I am thinking this over. I would appreciate if the tag or tags gave further direction about the types of stories you would be interested, or indicate how the character is likely to interact with the (potentially: long-timeline, sprawling) canon they exist in, because from what I've seen in exchanges generally, 'give me anything' is not well suited to longer work minimums - having a clearer common ground between creator & recipient is better.

Bit of both, since it's currently buried away from my screen - thanks for bringing it up. Is that the tag with Kaldwin/Loyalists in? Is that a romantic or sexual relationship between Kaldwin and all of the Loyalists & between them? Or something else? And sorry if this question is a bit muddled but I am going only off recollection of the tag right now.

D&D nominator here! I was mostly imagining fic set in the Forgotten Realms around the most recent game centuries, but my thinking was that I didn't want to lock out someone who really wanted to request or write a different setting or lump in the Forgotten Realms books. I guess I was picturing fic set in or around canonical cities and canonical historical events with the option for D&D-specific monsters, classes, abilities, and lore. I was also thinking about the potential for interactive fic that employed the game mechanics.

If the fandom's too broad, would something like "Forgotten Realms (D&D)" be better, or maybe splitting the nominations between "D&D 5e Players Handbook" and "D&D 5e Monster Manual"? I'd also be happy to make the characters more specific like "Original Vilhon Reach Adventuring Party".

Thanks for the fast response! Yes, that is the tag.

It is intended to be, basically, "each and every individual Loyalist/Emily Kaldwin," though I'm not opposed to the Loyalists also having romantic or sexual relationships with each other too. Naming each Loyalist instead of "the Loyalists" sent me over the tag limit and made it seem more like I wanted the focus to be equally on the Loyalists' romance with each other.

I also don't have enough slots to nominate all the individual Loyalists/Emily as separate tags. And even if I did, I'm just not as interested in writing or receiving, say, only Pendleton/Emily (for example).

fwiw as a potential D&D writer, I read the nominations the way you're describing them -- original player-type characters having adventures in a published D&D setting, with their abilities and histories determined by the bounds of the canon sourcebooks.

If you want to split it up, I'd vote for splitting by setting rather than by mechanics sourcebook -- I wouldn't want to write a party adventuring and fighting stuff using only the Players' Handbook and not the Monster Manual, for instance!

Forgotten Realms sounds great to me. You could mention you're open to other settings but I think having a starting point helps.

I just nominated Eberron (a different published D&D setting) and some character tags mostly just ripped off from the FR nominating nonny, but I also nommed "any requested original works tag that fits this setting". That might be something that's better expressed in a letter than with a tag, so no hard feelings if you nix it. But if you don't nix it, it might be something the FR nominating nonny would want to consider as well.

Hi! I notice that one of the nomination for Wylding Hall - Elizabeth Hand is incorrect. It lists "Windhollow Faire (Wylding Hall)" rather than "Group: Windhollow Faire (Wylding Hall)", as Windhollow Faire is the name of the band that the main characters are members of.

Batman nominee here, I'm game for any canon. I just wanted some Batman as an option, should I make it more specific? I also didn't want to limit it to only relationships, but since I only could nominate five spots I thought I'd give a range...

I think that might work better as a prompt than a tag? Especially since people can add tags during sign-ups, including to Original Works. Thanks for giving me a heads-up about it.

Hi! That was actually intentional. Tags that refer to a group without specifying / and & relationships within them may be canonized by AO3 as a character tag, and we're using the character slot, so I reformatted it to fit that slot. I still understand it as meaning multiple characters. I hope that makes that clearer.

Yes, please be more specific. Nominating characters rather than relationships is fine! It just means you're only guaranteed a focus on one of the characters you request if you get a Batman gift.

Hello - I think there may have been a miscommunication here, as I'm left with several Batman - All Media Types nominations. You don't have to narrow the characters down further by fitting them into specific relationships, but please indicate specific canons for your nominations.
