Not the mod, but part of the post addresses this:

'If you want to nominate a character, just enter their name with the (Fandom) at the end. Some may even autocomplete. Original characters are also OK as long as you describe a character who could have existed in canon, such as "Original Force-sensitive Character (Star Wars Original Trilogy)".'

So it looks like only the OFDE example would be allowed.
