Oh, I should have mentioned it—thank you for reminding me! The anime's overall a faithful adaptation, just not a 100% complete one. It tells the whole story of the first volume with select elements of the Gente volumes as B plots. I personally prefer the manga for having more little moments and vignettes with characters besides Nicoletta and her love interest Claudio, but the show would more than hit all the major notes for people who prefer anime.
